Just started playing this game, finished the first chapter.
Man, it's hard to play with two screens going. I think I'll just leave the top one on auto...
Edit: I don't think Shiki wears any panties....

How is it? I'm fairly interested in getting it. Would you say the lower screen's battle system takes a lot of getting used to?

I'm gonna go play it right now, lol.

There's still quite a few other games I want to buy, so I guess I'm asking for a review of the game from a fellow Fakku member. I really don't trust review sites, since my tastes are so drastically different from the mainstream. Maybe after you've completed a few more chapters you can tell me how you like it, what's good, what's bad, etc.

On Day 3 now. Combat is pretty easy still. I just slash nine times, wait for monster to get up, use ice, slash and repeat.
It has some intersting elements, like the Sync gameplay. Guess the cards right by doing the combos(I think...this all takes place on the top screen, I hardly look there) can unleash a powerful AoE attack.
Then there is the food system. Buy food, eat it, fight monsters to digest it and it will raise stats or sync level. You can only eat so much food in 1 real life day.
Equipment isn't level based, it's a single stat base. You need a certain amount of bravery to wear stuff. EQ has hidden abilities, the more you buy from a certain store, the more abilities are shown.
Battles aren't random, you scan for monsters and pick which ones to fight. You are automatically healed after the fight.
I like the artwork alot...
Story hasn't advanced a lot yet, but I assume it's going towards the get you memory back, but there will be a twist...or something.

This game has generally been getting positive reviews, and the art style caught my attention since Square's announcement. I'm planning on picking it up at some point, but right now I'm battling my way through Burnout Paradise and Guitar Hero III.

I've been hyped up about this game since like January/February, but I recently lost my DS around the house which I'm having a hard time finding. So I can't play it :\.

It's great. The art/personalities feels like a cross between Jet Grind Radio and Kingdom Hearts. I mean, they even have a character called Beat... The battle system is interesting. You can leave the top to the AI, but later you will want to control it sometimes, if only to get the fusion faster(it heals you, that's why). The game is really fun, the only down side is that I have trouble turning the game off...

Really siked about this game myself. But I kinda sold my D.S. last year and I spent my game money of GTA IV and other AAA titles. I really stoic that this is getting great reviews.

It's a great game with good replay value, after beating the game, there are hidden reports that can be received for each day and week of the game by fulfiling certain objectives and you get a bonus ending scene if you collect erm all which is awesome.

Huh...good to hear fellow FAKKU members are playing this game. Ever since I got it, I've been playing it like crazy. There's just so many damn pins are also evolving them! Just to get Mingle PP while I was in New York City, I went to Nintendo World and set whatever DSs I could to send wireless signals. I got ticked off when someone would stop even one wireless signal and play whatever game was in the DS.
I've actually beat the game completely and for those of you worried about the game being short... Also, after beating the game, there's a bonus chapter called Another Day, which takes place in an alternate universe of the same setting with the same characters, but it completely revolves around Tin Pin Slammers. It reminds me of stereotypical shonen animes...but it's hilarious for the most part.
By the way, for those of you who want to master pins quickly or evolve them if they need Shutdown PP, simply go into the DS's settings and advance it a year. When you start the game up again, it gives you 297 SDPP. Keep in mind that you won't want to do this with pins that evolve through Battle PP or Mingle PP.
On a second note, in order to get some accompanying pins, such as Big Bang and Big Crunch, you'll need to put your game in another DS to get the matching pin. In other words, you go to the noodle place for Big Crunch, save, then put the game into another DS and go back in to the noodle place to get Big Bang. Kinda odd, but hey...

So this game, along with Angel Beats!...
Am I the only one noticing the huge similarities between the two? The main character's designs look pretty similar, too.

Pretty good game. I didn't care for the story very much, but the combats and mechanics were well done.

That would be a big mistake, since the story for this game was truly a work of art. I would have to agree with you on the similarities with Angel Beats! though. This game really plays on the fact of finding out what's important to you, but I would say AB! would be more towards the whole purgatory view of it.

I had trouble relating to the main character, winy, emo, 16 year-olds aren't my cup of tea. I liked a lot of the other characters though, particularly Minamimoto, that fucker was badass. I'm not saying the story was bad or anything, I just didn't like it as much as the other bits.
On another note: The art was great.

Well, that was kind of the point of having the Games to take place, in a sense. One major plot device of the game was how Neku changes his way of thinking throughout the weeks, and how he's coming out of being a solitary emo bastard and being more thoughtful of others.
However, your point is still valid on how you cannot relate to him as well as the game would have like you to. Just my two cents on this matter :P
