Alien Swarm was recently announced. Previously thought dead, this mod has risen from the depths of nowhere and become it's own standalone Source SDK release. Oh, that sneaky Valve.
It'll be available for Steam for FREE on July 19th. There is NO PRICE. How great is that?

I expect it to be decent, if not great. It should be fun, though, it being a Valve release.
Knowing Microsoft, if Alien Swarm is released for the 360 arcade, there will probably be a price tag.

I'll surely check this one out. Change of pace from RTS's and it's free. So why the heck not to try.

There is also an SDK release alongside the game, so that might help fix a lot of the problems with broken Source Mods.

The game's actually really fun, with the only issue being the lack of missions. That should be fixed in the future though.
Also, badassing giant aliens in the face with your fist is fun as hell.

fun, but short. Modders need to work on it with the new tools for new maps/campaigns/ new weapons/items and new characters/enemies.
Also, if your going to try this on insane mode, I recoomend you do it with a predetermined party. Blind joining will result in death.

Ah, finally! I've been occasionally checking on this project since it started (I'm a fan of the Source modding community). It seems that Valve hired them out, so we can most likely expect constant updates and new campaigns, I just hope it stays free.
I'm looking for people to play with, pugging just doesn't seem to be the way to go with this game.

This is a "Survival" AddOn you guys might want to check out. It's pretty fun to play if you're bored and have already beaten the insane campaign.
Edit: To those of you having the problems of not being able to add friends, you must purchase a game in order to do so, this will give you access to a full steam account. Without doing so you only have access to the limited version of the Steam Account.
