dude gears is a serious badass game.

.....for the first time in my life i will be camping out a gaming store....oh and now i need to go change my pants after the locust shield/neck snap bit.

I can't wait for this, allthough I really need to play the first one, I've played on xbox live with a friend but thats about it.

Meh. Gears of War was an "o.k." game. I found it as average and and stereotypical. Before I knew it the game was over and almost nothing happened. I'll probably rent number 2 just to see if it's more of the same or if they do anything better with it.

if you thought it was that easy i really hope you were playing on casual. cause on insane(or whatever they called the hardest difficulty) i had a hard as hell time. and i couldnt even beat the last boss solo on insane.

then you play too many shooting games....

Gears of War was a major failiure regarding the fights...

B mashing in a chainsaw fight? Count me IN.

Eh, insane was too easy. Only challenge was RAAM because of ammo concerns. It was laughable on co-op. The story was weak, the multiplayer had connection troubles, the most used weapon in the game (shotgun) was so finicky that after a short time all 'skill' related with using it went out the window. For me it boiled down to a gore game. It was pretty and bloody, as the second one will be. However, B mashing chainsaw wars will be gay as hell on MP.

I think i would describe this series as "Bad ass". Although the great failure of the first game in my eyes was the story. There was no story. A couple of little hint here and there but for the most part you knew nothing. What are you fighting? Highly evolved genetically engineered humanoid locusts? What did Markus do to get thrown in jail? Was he rich? That big ass mansion was his. The second one has potential of having a story. They can answer those questions "For starters".

Locust, can't help there. However, I can tell you why Marcus was thrown in jail, just because of the art book that came with the special edition. It had back story to the art. Marcus fought in the 50-year Pendulum Wars in which nations battled for control of Immulsion deposits. In the battle for the Aspho Fields, Marcus got word that his father, a renowned scientist, was being attacked. He abandoned his post and went to help his father, resulting in a court martial. The mansion is because his dad was a famous scientist.

Did you see the bundle they're having for GeoW2? It's a Lancer replica but will be 'fully' functional ie the chainsaw will work. O_O Now you can be as cool as CliffyB!

You gotta expect something epic from epic games man...
