Parasite eve 1-2

There's a thread for the 3rd one but not one for these 2 classics, so I'm starting one.
Parasite eve:
Keep in mind the first one was made in 1997. I still love playing this game to this day, I don't give a shit how badly outdated the graphics are, the gameplay is simple and fun. That to me is what matters most. Once you finish the game, you can save your data and start a new game plus. In the new game plus, you keep all your weapons, ammo and armor from your previous game but you start back at level 1. There's a new building you can visit; The Chrylser building. As you might have guessed, the building contains the most powerful bosses of the game. Completing the Chrysler building is no easy feat (the last boss has 45,000 hp!). But it is worth it, aside from the obvious bragging rights you also get some very nice background info as well as an alternate ending...the "True" ending of the game... won't say more.
Parasite eve 2:
The sequel to the 1997 hit was generally not so well received, from what I've read in several reviews. The gameplay is the main reason why. I myself describe the gameplay as "resident evil with RPG elements". As you can see from the gameplay video, you move around with fixed camera angles. The battles are no longer random, instead there are a pre-determined amount of enemies in each section. Pressing select will bring up the map, and areas that are highlighted in pink means that there are enemies in that section.
Now I am a fan of the old school resident evil games (prior to the gameplay changes of the 4th), so when I picked up and played this game, I immediately felt right at home. I personally have played the 2nd more due to all the bonus items, guns, armors and gameplay modes you get, also because I just love the gameplay a lot more in the 2nd one due to it being a lot more customizable then the first.
But overall these 2 games will forever be classics to me. I just hope the 3rd one doesn't suck ass and ruin the series...

Also, I play PE2 first ... and play PE1 afterward.
PE2 focused on more into action while PE1 focused on RPG ... which one is better ? to each his own.
What PE energy is your favorite ?
For me, it's all about liberation in PE1 and Pyrokinesis in PE2
Only can use Necrosis for damn fu*king Jelly (PE2) ... Hurr .. bad memories considering their appearances.
At first, i dunno how to hurt them since bullets & Pyrokinesis are useless.

Well yea liberation cause it was the most powerful ability in the first. But I can't really say in the 2nd cause they are all upgradable. Early on I'd say Necrosis due to the poison it inflicts on enemies. A real difference maker in tough boss battles.
And that's what so great about the 2nd game, the customization. You can upgrade and focus on any power you want, not to mention the weapons also have different ammo and the M4 has so many add-ons...such a great game...

My gameplay consist of heavy damaging (pyrokinesis) and run while shooting. Useful when we fight the CannonMouth (forgot the name).

Ahhh .. Javelin and Bayonet ... my favorites.
On the side note, don't forget this favorite scene ...

Necrosis saved my ass a few times against those 4 legged wall crawlers that become invisible when they stop moving. In your first playthrough they aren't too difficult but in the various additional gameplay modes you unlock they do A LOT more damage and you have less HP, plus the stores barely sell anything worthy apart from some good charm/attachments. All the armors give less HP/MP bonuses as well in the more difficult modes.
Necrosis makes those things fall down from the ceiling and stuns them every time the poison damage kicks in, thus giving me ample opportunity to blast the shit out of them with whatever weapon I got.
Not to mention it doesn't cost too much MP even at level 1, unlike some powers like combustion.

The Lord of Butts!
Im sorry for the bump, but for everyone who owns a playstation 3 (atleast in the EU region, not totally sure about US) Parasite eve 2 is up to download in the Playstation store.
Since my old Ps1 discs are already scratched and hang sometimes, i saw it and instantly bought it (PE being my most favourite game of that genre)
So i just wanted to let you know, that its up for sale (cheap even) for anyone who wants to try it out, or replay again for good memories~
Dears,Asa~❤

Really loved the second game never got to play the first 1 sadly. Beat number 2 many times for diffrent endings and for bonuses( go go gun blade lol). From the way pe3 is gonna be its kinda a let down 1 since its on psp 2 dose not have the old feeling like 1 and 2 have. Id be happy if they re done 1 and 2 with modern graphics imo.

Back when i was a pusher, some tweaker traded me No. 1 or 2(i forget which) for some "product". it was pretty cool, until it came time to put in disc three. the litle fiend only gave me two discs. i never did get to finish it.

Parasite eve 1 and 2 were 2 discs games. There was no disc 3. Parasite eve 1 had a collector's cd which included demos for;
Xenogears, Bushido blade 2, Brave fencer Musashi and Final Fantasy 8.
*Edit*
Also, about 2 months after I made this thread, I was motivated to finally do the Chrysler building in PE1. First of all, I had to spend a few hours at the goddamn museum going back and forth between rooms, trying to get to level 99.
When I got level 99, I went to the building. And I want to say this right now, whoever the fuck designed the Chrysler building is a sadistic fuck.
It's 77 floors high. Doesn't sound too bad right? Well in the first game, Aya moved rather slowly. Combine that with the random encounters, confusing floors designs one after the other with the same goddamn scenary over and over... I had to take a break every 20 floors I got up. It was giving me goddamn headaches. But when I finally got to the top, and beat the TRUE final boss, it was defenitely worth it. The true ending was not only awesome, but it also explains why in PE2
Spoiler:
BUT I SURE AS FUCK AIN'T DOING IT AGAIN. x_x

i like the system in pe2 and story wise you can get different endings wich i wish more games would let you do instead of a single ending. Found my old memorey stick that had pe2 on there lol if only i had the game still.

But once it's over, I know it's hours of non-stop fun ahead.
My only real gripe with the 1st one is the music, it's overall meh/somewhat annoying/really bad.
The 2nd one really improved, most songs are either transparent/somewhat good.
Really liked the song that plays in the first level
