I am going as well. It'll be my second time. I might stop by and say hello since my friends will probably be at Comic Con. They aren't hentai fans, so yeah.
I hope they have good panels. I'm already upset that Gundam 00 is on Sunday since I can only go Saturday.

Ahh cool!
Is it tough to get walk-in tickets? And, if they're available, are lines usually long? Any old-timers there, lemme know...
I did not preregister but really wanna go, at least just to shop and see a few panels.

From experience in the past, lines get loooooong. So if you're not preregistered, prepare to go early or stand in line. I've never gone to a New York convention so I do not know if they're hard to get a hold of walk in passes.
I remember being 13 and going to Otakon. My mom had a habit of as soon as I did something I wasn't supposed to or she get frustrated at me, she'd take away things from me. Like "Yeah, well now you can kiss going to that convention goodbye, you're not going!" In order to avoid something like that I told her my friends father already bought preregistered tickets x3 despite doing a walk in buy haha.
I also was accidentally handed a 3 day pass when I only paid for a 1 day pass. Unfortunately I was unable to go all three days.

Its a straight through walk in last time I went. Lines weren't long either, and I arrived at peak hours haha.
I haven't been to the last one but the few times I went, the cons lacked some good crowds compared to the cons at Texas and San Diego (from what I heard from friends). Hell, before '05 it wasn't even held at the Javitis Center. It was held at 3 of the Marriot Hotel's floors. The set up was crappy. Still, I enjoyed it somewhat.
Of course the next cons would pick up momentum, but it still was outbeaten by cons in the tristate area, namely the ones in New Jersey.
With Jacob coming along, and a brand new NYAF, I hope its better than the previous ones to date that I might consider going for 3 days.
AND I WILL BLIND JACOB WITH MY UGLINESS! MUAHAHAHAHAAAAA!

Registration is actually still going on, i got my tickets about a day or 2 ago. My concern with New York is getting a parking space close to the convention center haha.

I'll be taking the train with my friends again. I don't think I'll be able to drive by the time it's all over, lol.

Sneaking in is easy. Just go with a group of people with tickets and pretend you're with them. If you get caught, just say, "Oh, you need tickets? I didn't know, I'm sorry". Never got caught though. I also met Jacob and got my t-shirt signed by him *squeal*
