[font=comic sans ms]The bustling metropolis featured in the new Pokémon Black and White versions is directly modeled after New York City, complete with its own equivalent of Lower Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge - this is no secret. So did the development team really think its Ground Zero would be conspicuous whatsoever? It doesn’t seem too likely from the looks of the above screenshot. The area, called “Route 4”, is clearly under construction in the game. You can even see the ruins of former skyscrapers. But instead of a terrorist attack, the backstory explains that a meteor fell at the site and is responsible for the widespread destruction in this section of the city. And with another nearby meteor shower came a new species of Pokémon called “Kyurem.” Its height? Only 9’10”...but it’s close enough. We get it.
