Assassin's Creed 3

Ubisoft just released the boxart for the latest game in the Assassin's Creed series. Since Ezio's story is now finished, the game now shifts to a new protagonist during the American Revolution.
I'm counting on some serious changes in gameplay due to the change in the time period. Guns are now more plentiful and better made and there aren't as many tall buildings to scale in Colonial America. Feel free to speculate until any concrete details on the gameplay is announced.

The Grey Knight :y
I heard the main series was always meant to be a trilogy, so this is technically the "last" main game. Wonder how this ends...

Can't say that I'm very pleased about this setting. But it seems that the new protagonist is a native American, which could make it actually interesting.

Some people don't like it when main character of a popular series is changed. Just look at devil may cry...

DMC is about Dante, since he's a half-demon, no need to worry about "in 20 years, he's too old!" plus he's kinda immortal so it's easy to keep on making games with him. The DmC game is now said to take place in a different universe (at first it was supposed to be a prequel to DMC3 or something, never looked into it), plus it's supposed to be "Dante" which a lot of fans are raging about.
AC was about some guy in the present (or future depending how you look at it) who gets captured and probed, looking at his ancestors and trying to find clues. We play as Altair in the first, Ezio for the three games that just came out and apparently John Redcorn's ancestor in this new one. It is normal to play as other characters besides the 'original' title character in this series.

I'm not entirely convinced that the new protag is a Native American. Putting aside skin color, since he is still Desmond's ancestor and, as such, is also related to Ezio and Altair. So it's no real surprise that he'd also have darker colored skin and hair. Not to say that there's no chance of him being Native. Just pointing out that it's entirely possible that he's not. Really, it's pretty much a coin flip at the moment. Though, it would be totally badass to scalp some Redcoats.
Looking at the protag's weapons, tomahawks were often used by both Native Americans and Colonials alike. And since his is made of metal rather than stone, it's more likely to be Colonial made. Hell, the British army even started issuing tomahawks to their soldiers during the American Revolution. So at that point in time, pretty much everyone was using tomahawks. As for the protag's choice of a bow and arrow, it was actually suggested by Ben Franklin as a more ideal weapon for the Colonies' guerrila tactics against the British. Why use loud, noisy muskets when you can ambush the Redcoats and fire multiple volleys of silent arrows in the span of time it takes them just to reload their weapons?

It's just that their bloodlines fused some time (or, to put it bluntly, a descendant of Altair fucked with a descendant of Ezio some time and they got a child through that). Probably that's the same case here.

Hmm, I was really hoping for Desmond to take the spotlight in Assassin's Creed 3, But it would be really intresting to see a decendent in this time period.
All im hoping for is that they can rap up a story in Assassin's Creed 3.0, Although I loved Revalations, Brotherhood wasn't my thing.

I'm a bit dissapointed. I was hoping Assassin's Creed III would have a less often used setting. I was hoping for either the 1640s in Britain during the English Civil War, or In the 18th century in Ancien Regime France. I had an image in my head of an assassination mission where you have to sneak into a concert to kill someone and all the while Mozart is playing his Symphony #40 in G min KV 550.

Honestly I'm a bit dissapointed, as the towns won't be as grand and culturally flourished. Someone also mentioned the fear of less tall buildings to climb around and that's also what will be bad.

Anyway it would be nice if this warps up the final story because im starting to get the feeling that they are milking the series. Assassins creed is an awesome series but i just feel it shouldnt go on for to long.
