Chicken Noodle Casserole - For BerryBerry [5/27/12]

Cooking Utensils/Appliances:
- 1 Large Pot w/ lid
- 1 Medium Pot
- 1 Large Mixing Bowl
- 1 Mixing Spoon
- Thongs
- Colander/Strainer/Slotted Spoon (any)
- Whisk/Fork
- 3 Quart Casserole Dish
- Oven
- Cutting Board and Knife

Ingredients:
- 4 Skinless chicken breasts
- 10 oz of egg noodles
- 1 (10 3/4 oz) of Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
- 1 (10 3/4 oz) of Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup
- 1 1/4 cup of Sour Cream
- Salt/Pepper
- Thyme - 3 fresh stalks or about 1 tbs of Dried
- 2 Cups of crumbled buttered crackers (like Ritz brand or any other buttery crackers all crushed up)
- 3/4 Cup of butter (1 and 1/2 sticks)
- 1 Medium Sized Onion - Only use about 1/2 to 3/4 of it if you are not an onion fan
- 3 Stalks of Scallions (green onions)
- 4 Cloves of Garlic
- 1 Cup of shredded carrots - to be chopped up smaller
- 3/4 cup of milk
- 1 cup of shredded cheese - I suggest cheddar, but all I had was Mozzarella

1) Poach the Chicken
- In the large pot, combine the chicken, the Thyme, and salt
- Add water water to sufficiently cover the chicken, then add a bit more since the
water will boil off and we'll be using the water again
- Bring all to a boil
- Lower heat to low
- Cover and let cook for another 10 mins so there is no pink left in the chicken
- Remove the Chicken from the water and set aside to cool
- SAVE THE WATER, DO NOT DUMP

2) Cook the Noodles
- In the same water as you cooked the chicken, cook the noodles.
- Strain once done
- Run under cold water to prevent sticking

3) Combine the Soups/Sour Cream/Milk
- In the large mixing bowl, add all the wet ingredients
- Whisk/Stir till blended
- Add salt and pepper to taste

4) Preheat the Oven to 350F
- Should buy you enough time to get all the chopping and mixing done

5) Chop that shit. Then Stir.
- Chop the onions, scallions, and carrots
- Combine in large mixing bowl
- Chop the chicken into medium/small cubes
- Add to the mixing bowl
- Add the noodles
- Stir/Mix well

6) Pour the mixture into the 3 quart Casserole dish

7) Sprinkle the cheese on top

8) Make the topping
- In the medium pot, melt the butter
- Take the crushed crackers and add to the fully melted butter
- Stir till the crackers absorb all the butter
- Spread the mixture on top of the casserole

9) Bake at 350 for 35/40 mins to ensure everything cooked through

10) Remove from the over, let it cool, serve and enjoy
