DOOM 3: BFG Edition

How did this game go under my radar for so long? The BFG Edition is the console re-release of the entire DOOM series (expansions included. The most notable is the heavily updated version of DOOM 3. This isn't like most HD re-releases out there. Supposedly, the new IdTech 5 engine and some tech from RAGE has been put into overhauling this FPS classic. Graphic updates aside, minor changes to the game have been made. To quote the dev team.
"There was one level where you walk up these steps, which fall away behind you for no reason, and then two imps jump out in front of you. We were playing this and we were like, 'Why did we do this? This is dumb.' Then we had an area where 12 Lost Souls would appear out of nowhere. No fun. Then there were our health stations, which were not always set at 100 percent. I don't even know why we did that. So, we fixed that. We also added some ammo, because we were too damn stingy."
As if that weren't enough, a new 8 map mini-campaign called The Lost Mission that has been added to the package. In this campaign, you play as a survivor of Bravo Team, which was originally wiped out in the DOOM 3 campaign. As this marine, you help a scientist in his efforts to destroy the portal from Hell.

Last time I tried to play this game, I pissed myself, it was 5 years ago. I should try again.

I really hope they'll make this for PC as well, I used to play the original Doom 3 when it first came out years ago... too bad it doesn't work anymore. So many good memories and so many jump scares. :3

I beat this game when it first came out. I was young, the world against me. I must try to conquer this game yet again! This time, I get to play the expansion pack!

Pretty much sums things up. There's also that DOOM 3 is being remastered with IdTech 5 and some tech from RAGE has been used to upgrade the multiplayer.
Oh, and I also heard that you can play either the orignal DOOM 3 or the updated one, which has, among other things, an armor-mounted flashlight, laser sight for your guns, and slightly redesigned levels and set pieces.

The Armour-mounted flashlight will be nice. It was always such a pain in the original to pull out the flashlight then quick-swap to your gun when you needed it.

I feel that it takes away from the game's fear factor. The game practically made you choose between being able to see the monsters in the dark, or illuminating the halls with muzzleflash.

Yeah, you have a point. But for me, the fear factor from the game was lost after the first few playthroughs. It's all just the fun now.
