Well, if it's just you being you, as you said, and having fun with locking it for a while, you can also unlock it once you're done.

Or if you're really serious, which this thread really makes me doubt, you could at least do like Jacob did with the post you quoted and give the café a chance to decide how to move on and lock it once it's requested.

talking about getting to 10.000 pages. Im not saying that i have contributed as much as i did in V1 and V2...but seeing that in every version..is just us wasting years in a way.

And no, not wasted time on the people we talk and meet here, but wasted time to reach something as a community IMHO.
