I agree with the MEDY album. It's amazing. The album by Muryoku-P (Eschatology) is also godly.

One album from this last year I truly enjoyed was As I Lay Dying's Awakened. A very well-executed album and good song-writing. It also has one of my favorite tracks from them, Wasted Words:
Ah, shit. I forgot Helvetios was released this last year too. I don't know why that didn't pop up in my head because I listen to the album at least weekly. It's one of the best albums to be released this last year.

Kind of Important
A ray of Tsunlight.
The two that best stick out for me would be:
God is an Automaton - Sybreed
Sybreed is a mix of industrial, groove and even a bit of melodic death metals. This last album I think, returned more to the sound their debut Slave Design sounded like; real heavy on the double bass with less of the 'electronic' sounds that the middle two albums had.
Next up is L'Enfant Sauvage - Gojira
Really not much to say here. Gojira have always been fantastic musically and lyrically and this is no exception. (This album is entirely in English if you wish to look some songs up. But the band themselves are French, hence the title.)
As for singles and the like, basically pick a song at random from either of those two albums. Though standouts would be - Radiant Daybreak, and the title track off of God is an Automaton. As well as Explosia and The Axe from L'Enfant Sauvage.
There is one more I'm surprised I had forgotten about.
I Am Nemesis - Caliban
This is pretty straight metalcore. But it's done very well, and is a damn solid album if you're into this kind of music.

Too many EDM songs to name for me. But i will say Zedd's album Clarity, is fantastic. And Deadmau5's new album Album Title Goes Here is great as well.
Normally i'de have a bunch of metal stuff to list here, but the year hasnt been too active for alot of the bands i listen to, and ive been getting really into EDM lately so i havent been scouring the internet for metal as much as i used to.
The new Kamelot Album Silverthorn is really good, one of their best imo
Requiem for the Indifferent by Epica is probly my favorite of the entire year, i swear they get better and better with each new release.
