[General] What anime got you into anime???

0
Like all other fellow ('90-95) kids I grew up watching Pokemon, DBZ, Gundam Wing. In hindsight, GW>>Both of those. The anime that got me into anime? Outlaw Star. Specifically, Melfina's theme is godly.

I'm going to original here for a moment:
Dragon Ball Z
Mobile Suit Gundam
YuYu Hakusho

I'd say pokémon, but it didn't really get me into it, I just watched it as a kid.

Code Geass and Full Metal Alchemist were two of the first few that I watched whilst getting into it. I was watching a few at a time so there wasn't really one specifically.

That's exactly how I feel about Pokémon and Dragonball Z. I loved to watch them, but I just thought they were cartoons and didn't associate them with anime.

What probably got me into anime was either G Gundam or Yu Yu Hakusho.

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind all those years ago was what got me into anime thanks to the brilliant Miyazaki

Digimon Season 1

A love for the original Gundam and Digimon, every childhood Miyazaki film (Totoro, Kiki, etc...), and not really anime but Thundercats.

Well, not counting Pokemon, DBZ, etc., what got me into was probably either Rurouni Kenshin or Yu Yu Hakusho. I watched Rurouni Kenshin first and liked it a lot, but Yu Yu Hakusho was what really got me hooked.

Even though I watched Dragon Ball z first I'd have to say everything on Adult Swim's line up.

For me it was Sailor Moon

I maratoned Evangelion on a single night during holy week (very apropiate?), on the legendary Locomotion channel, and i think i was like 12 years old.

This one made me think, I believe YTV had a small late night anime block every Thursday or something that had Gundam Seed and Inyusasha, also had Invader Zim right after it ended. Not an anime but Invader Zim was still awesome.

The stuff they had on Cartoon Network/Toonami many many years ago when I was little. So like DBZ, Inuyasha, Rurouni Kenshin, etcetc

Well theirs

-Macross (dunno which one it was, I can only guess the original)
-Sailor Moon
-Pokemon
-DBZ, Outlaw Star, Tenchi Muyo and Tenchi in Tokyo (I did watch Tenchi Universe too, but that only confused me since I didn't understand the connection to Muyo), something I'm forgetting from tonami Gundam Wing and 8th MS, that I all watched at the same time.
-Lain.

In this order.

I wouldn't say any "one" anime got me into it, but rather, the collection of these series, in the 90's, combined with the help of a friend of mine in introducing me to fansubs, is what lead to my interest in anime growing to what it is now.

I will say though, Outlaw Star, Tenchi Muyo, 8th MS, and especially Lain, had the biggest influence on me.
