i havnt read through the whole thread yet but heres my bit. countries generaly abolish the death sentence for this reason. they keep killing inocent people. it happans more than youd think and whos fault is it? the lawyers, they do there best to make huge amounts of cash and can make even the more innocent guy appear guilty. they can also keep the real culprits out of jail. this is a major issue in the legal system.

It's already mentioned about the loopholes and weaknesses in the law in the previous posts...
Both criminals and greedy lawyers have been abusing that, yeah...
That's why capital punishment should be made a viable but harder options...

I guess, your statements is one of the reasons we're going to see a lot of lawyers in hell... heheh...

yeah,if you ask me what is the most sinful job in the world today,it is judge and lawyer.

but not all of judge and lawyer are bad.
it's just the good, honest judges and lawyers tends to get assasinated quickly.

Either assasinated or bribed. It's all just absured. And this whole guilty until proven innocent mentality is getting real old real fast. ...Alright I'm gonna mention something, and if anyone knows who I am because of it keep it to yourself, this is not something I need shared with everyone I know. I was arrested in '06 for posession of coke. The shit wasn't mine. my ex-roomate bought a quarter oz. of the shit, I knew he had it, but I wasn't going to say anything (I don't rat out my friends). Anyway, we get pulled over, and the cops searched my car, yes it was an illegal search, but the "Patriot" Act does away with due process. So my ass gets slammed on the ground with a gun to my head and put in cuffs. They take my roomate over to the other car and talk to him. Now you gotta understand this is a guy who would always preach "snitches get stitches" and shit like that. Well, they immediatley start questioning me about where it came from. Naturally, I couldn't answer that. So I got arrested, sat in jail for 3 days. Couldn't eat the pathetic excuse for food they had, couldn't sleep on those goddamn stainless steel benches. The waste of genetic material fuckin sighned an affadavit saying the coke was mine. The cops just went along with the setup, and played just the way he wanted them to. Guess what happened to him. NOTHING. He walked home. I'm still on probation for that shit. Fortunately I was able to get deffered adjudication, which means it only comes up as an arrest in a background check, and in 10 years it'll be off my record alltogether. So all and all it didn't fuck up my life completely, but It illustrates my whole guilty until proven innocent statement.

Fuck man, that's gotta hurt, taking the bullet for your roomate. If that happened to me, fuck the law, I'm coming for you, ex-roomie, with a shotgun and blow your ass off.

I feel for you. Honestly, I would probably want to hunt down my "friend" and cut his tongue out for lying. If anything in this world sets me off its people who lie for anything other than protecting a loved one. I used to have the mentality of taking a hit for my friends. I'll cover for them because my friends were my family but, I grew out of that after my best friend screwed me as well. Not as bad as what happened to you but, still pretty retarded.

I like the innocent until proven guilty idea since in theory we are suppose to believe someone is innocent until the cops prove them guilty but, in this day in age nobody follows that. Lets take O.J. for example he has been proven innocent by a jury of his peers and the idea is we just move on and accept the innocent decision. We don't do that, and even if someone is proven innocent (if we agree or not) we treat them as if they are guilty.

The thing that really pisses me off is the "patriot" act. Like throwing away ones rights is an act of Patriotism.

hmm.......well i do not support completely this death punishment cause there are quite some flaws in it like for example: A woman's husband suddenly gone crazy and tried to strangle her. She kills him but no one is there to witness it. Trialed for murder and sended to be hanged.

What is the justice in that? That is one of the biggest flaw in this system. Not only does it kills the guilty but some of the time the innocent (i mean those that did it for self defence or framed) are executed. If you ask me i support the system IF and ONLY IF the cases are all trialed until the accused is proven guilty with ALL the evidence and that ALL the evidence are PROVEN VALID AND TRUE.

PS: Although the story has some connections, let's return to the topic at hand shall we? wouldn't wanna stray too far...

Agreed. Just illustrating the point of Guilty until proven innocent. Just so happened I had personal experience in this matter. And he will learn to fear my sin of choice, wrath. At this point I'm not nice enough to use a shotgun.

DamientheDevil brings up a good point. Once again, changes could be made.

NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!

Seriously though, I believe we are walking in the direction.

No I think more on the road toward a facist police state. From what I understand the "Patriot" Act reads much like a Facist manifesto.

I can't seem to find a hard copy of that. I've read parts of the communist manifesto (Know thine enemy) but, Facist ones are hard to impossible to find, for me at least.
