I've been thinking a lot about what happens after death and... it kind of scares the hell out of me. What if its over after death I mean I like the idea of reincarnation and/or heaven but what if when you die you slip into darkness forever what if when you die you just stop and you rot in the ground. Tell me what you think I don't care if you are religious or an atheist just say what you think because I really want to know.

To me, death is the key to the world of eternity. It just means letting yourself go from this world.

Based on my religion:
When one dies, he is to be stayed in his grave but his grave will become a place based on his deeds until judgement.

I don't think anything ever dies really, I believe it is just letting your body go, since in my belief that we are the soul and our body is the shell.

I wish it were like this:
When we die we get to go to a place where true freedom is and it is beautiful and everything is nothing like earth, it is a place really unique.

We are full of energy maximised by our organic components and properties, so if we die. We'll be fertilised by soil and other species which turns into shit. And shit fertilised grass and grass grows, chemical and physical change in a never ending cycle mother fucker.

I believe death really is the end - it is my personal belief that our consciousness simply ceases to be when we die, our energy is dispersed back into the atmosphere as our bodies decay, because energy is never lost - only transferred. Our bodies WOULD serve as fertilizer for the soil, but we tend to bury people in coffins these days, so that doesn't happen as often.

As an endnote, I'm not saying that it's impossible for other beliefs to be correct, merely stating what I, myself believe. I would never ask others to believe what I believe, I only make statements of my beliefs, and leave it at that.

Some people get really pushy with their beliefs - I choose not to be one of them.

I think about this a lot. Being a man of faith I just try to move on with my day when confronted with the thought.

I hope death is the end. Never really bought into an afterlife or any sort of religious/spiritual concept.

I mean there's the whole physical reincarnation thing, atoms and energy, and that's cool, but I'm fine with being nonexistent after death. Dying when I'm dead and all.

People asked me if I wouldn't prefer to chill in heaven instead, and I'd say it would indeed be nice, but not existing means that you wouldn't mind either way, so eh?

Hell or any other suffering would suck though.

ok i think..... when you die your brain does not die with you instantly it is still has thoughts, now that it is not getting oxygen tho it starts to die and takes about five mins to completely die but at about 3 its getting to brain damage, now in these five mins i think this is when people dream about their heaven or hell and it feels like forever to them and eventually nothing.... but i do hope there is something but i have accepted death as a path you cannot escape but im not in a rush to get there but when it happens well shit it was a good run i hope

Honestly i hope it is, i'm not depressed at all i just don't like the thought of after i die i have to live eternally in a pseudo life like state, i like the idea of it just being nothing, a black abyss in which nothing changes and nothing occurs.

I see it from three perspectives.
1) Our bodies just rot in the ground, but provide nourishment to the earth around us.
2) As far as religion goes, I see it as this. My soul will go and wander the earth for a period of time based on my judgments and deeds. After that time, I can choose to continue walking the earth in the realm of the dead (Which is connected to the living but on separate planes) and see how my relatives are doing. I can also choose to go to the Kingdom. I am Roman Catholic, but modern day (I am thinking of becoming a priest and making a new denomination called Modern Day Church of Jesus Christ (Basically, out with the old and in with the new)). So with that being said, I don't believe in Hell or Heaven. I believe we all face the same fate, some just have to stay in the Shadow Realm longer than others. After "ascending" I could choose to explore the galaxy, find the truth of time and space, and become one's guardian angel, or just mess with the people at work and knock shit off the shelves.
3) This ideal is the same as #2, but in the sense that it ties in and adds to it, being that there is one higher being, a God, Yes, But to say that one religion is better than the other is false. I see it that we are all Gods, of the same origin, we just have to look at it differently. The Big Bang was our plane of existence coming into reality. Creatures such as Faeries, Ghosts, and other things are real, we just see them differently or are not enlightened enough yet. When we see animals, they are our blood, our family. They are the same. When an animal dies or person or creature, no matter how "painful" it may be, they just go back to the realm, assess themselves, and choose what the next step is. I believe when we see a shooting star, it may be someone we knew just going across our galaxy to another point to go and explore.

Well the only way you could tell is if you died. Religion was made by people to piece things together that they otherwise wouldn't be able to. So to be honest even if there was a god he most likely isn't anything like any god we've perceived.

My belief is that we just cease to exist. Just like we were before we were born. It's definitely not a reassuring thought, but I believe it to be logical.
