True perfection is beyond human reasoning by default, remember there is always something better, except for true perfection(true perfection is also boring), which is why the "God" in christianity cannot be perfect, that thing has emotions which are flaws in and of themselves(happiness leads to having sorrow which can lead to having rage and rage is generally considered bad.) I would think that if god had a plan it would be flexible enough to handle the actions of people, although that plan could be as simple as "Watch them until they aren't anymore, then start all over."

That gave me the image of "god is a kid with his toys" except god has some "bitch'n" toys

Which would explain why god was so prone to temper tantrums in the bible.

Theory: for those of you who have watched melancholy of haruhi suzumiya you will know what im on about

so were on god right? who says that god has to be this almighty invisible power? who says that he has the power to decide wether you go to heaven or hell?

well my theory is god is someone who don't even know about it he/she can change the world whenever they get bored/grow tired with it and then still not even realize it

i would like to know what you think

I think that's bullshit, no offense or anything to you, elfen lied. Too much crap has gone down over the course of human history to even let me believe that there is some person or benign god watching over us with warm and cuddly arms.

this is actually very similar to the rastifarian beliefs. They believe that god is a living man. However, I really don't know much about this particular religion (lack of material).

Great analogy.

Nicely put. Personally if I found out god was a living man I'd strait up kill his ass for filling this planet with belligerant, psychotic, apes (humans).

Someone once asked me doesn't it bother you to that because you don't have god in your heart you won't be welcomed with his embrace after death?

I told them that if God wouldn't accept me for going out into 'his' world by helping others, being content with you yourself (Which most people are not.) and following your own path - then I don't want to be embraced by him.

This is the only true true thing I believe. This is the closest I get to religious. Life IS your heaven OR your hell. It's what you make of it. I don't care if you had the most miserable life ever. Those are obstacles you have to deal with like every other single person in this world has to. It's how you maneuver around them. You get one life people - make the best of it.

I believe names, religion, and curch especially are completely irrelevant. None of that shit matters, what's important is how you live your life.

Unfortunately the actual tenants of most major religions are exactly the opposite. Specifically in Christianity, the major factor as to if you get into heaven or not relies almost entirely on if you believe in God and Jesus. You can do evil things in life, but if you repent and believe you'll be A-OK. But if you live a perfect life but don't believe, you'll going straight down to hell.

Which is A-OK with me :? If I was a god I'd be more focused on the people who can live without the aid of my help (If I were god) learn to be kind on their own, learn to be happy on their own - those are the kinds of people I'd look out for, because those are the best kinds of people. *cough - me* lol j/k

Which is precisely why I believe none of the current religions has it completely right, and why I follow no specific religion. When I was young I went to church, and hated every second of it. Everywhere I looked I saw people who went to church on sunday for the sole purpose of being an amoral sack of shit the rest of the week.

And Ziggy, your cool with me. If anyone's going to heaven you'll be right with 'em.

I dunno, it's kinda hard to say, personally if I were god it would be cool if my creations were all nice and lived good lives. But I would still want to be worshiped and respected for being the reason for their existance. Having your own creation deny that you yourself exist would be pretty offensive don't you think? Not saying that you're atheists, but still you get the idea.

Personally I'm a 100% agnostic, and probably always will be.

Yea, but I'd rather them deny me then fear me. You have any idea how many religions put the fear factor of gods wrath?

It's like watching your children grow into individual adults. When you grow up you don't start praying that your mom will get you out of that DUI or that girl you got knocked up.

But can you imagine if you did everything you could to raise your kid right, and they turned out really well, and you did everything to make it happen. And yet they refused to acknowledge you as their parent, can you imagine how crushing that would be?

I can see where your comming from, however this brings back up the free will thing. god either is unable to or doesn't want to interfere with our free will. Thus he (for lack of a better pronoun) Can't force us to believe anything one way or the other. It's pretty much left for us to decide. THAT is one thing all diety based religions share in common.

I guess you have a point. But imagine all the corrupted people, christ, look at Catholic priests and their boy molesting days. Who claim to be in touch with god and have god in their hearts.

People take what's good from the bible etc and leave out the rest. Like in the middle east you have woman shall serve for man (forgive my lack of quotes, lol) so they make it so women are below men

However, love your wife as jesus loved his church - my teacher said something like that one day in world history.

It's human flaw. We don't know what's going on and there's nobody giving us a FYI except for some people who were enclosed in caves writing this bible and koran (is that the right word? lol)from what they 'heard'

Ever play whisper down the lane?

Oh, I totally understand what you are saying, I was just bringing up the point that if I were god, I would be pretty hurt if my own creations refused to acknowledge my own existence. Nothing really more than that, I don't think it would make me keep them out of eternal paradise if they were good people, nor would I let in shitty people just because they did believe in me, but I would still be kinda hurt. But probably not as much as it would if someone believed in my, believed that I set down tenants to follow in order to be a good person and get into heaven, and just chose not to listen to me.

yes,it's koran in english.or al-quran in arabic.

bible and qur'an is consisting of writings of guys who just happened to be a "prophet" and claiming to have the ability to hear what's god are saying.is that really true?is thats really god's words?

god's biggest flaw:
i can't see his face.
i can't touch him
i can't listen to what he's saying.
and we're supposed to believe his words in some centuries-old writing?
are you sure that it isnt corrupted?

Excellent point mnx, tomarrow I'll +rep. True enough the word of god is infoulable, but who's to say man's interpretation of god's word is as well. Who's to say the people who wrote the first bible didn't put a whole bunch of self-serving bullshit. For that matter, who said god was a male. I'm willing to bet it was *gasp* A MAN! And men tend to like to be the dominant partner in relationships, I'm sure Ziggy will attest to that. I've never understood the whole conformity thing, I personally enjoy the differences between everyone. I mean, if we were all the same things would be extremely boring.
