Several reasons, the main being if they're not willing to expend the effort to PM me I probably wouldn't want them to join anyway. My time is not wasted.

My friends and myself also have a minecraft server, anyone wanting to play should PM me. We won't let it be overrun, so I can't just let it be accessed to everyone, but anyone that wants to join and isn't too late can. We have no real rules, only no griefing. It's not really populated with stuff, pretty blank slate, but you can do what you want and build where you want.

I have yet to play this, don't really plan to either, but my brother just suddenly up and got hooked on this game a month or two ago and he plays it constantly. Although I'm not to interested in it, I have to say that the number of things you can do with it(from what I've seen) are pretty amazing.

Are there any servers for survival multiplayer?

Again, our server is Survival and is 1.8. Anyone who wants to play on it needs but PM me and I will give you the address.

Is there any way of telling altitude in the game?

Pressing F3 will give you your X, Y, and Z coordinates (as well as other useful information), which you can use to judge your position on the map.

I was wondering because I think altitude might help for mining because ores are more common at certain altitudes.

The rest will come in handy too I keep getting lost every time I venture out most because of lag I end up taking sharp turn and can't remember which way I was going.

Why is it dark in mines even if there is a lot of torches?

Terrible irony considering I've often been called a "raging atheist" but whatever. I'm allowed to think cathedrals are impressive buildings, right?

That's quite good it looks like Minecraft is actually digital lego.

I've half way made a giant pick axe tower and surrounded by big castle walls it's not much to look at though but I did it on survival mode.

Aren't the most impressive part of cathedrals the external architecture? Show us the outside of it!

I have only started on the basement, but aside from some minor aesthetic changes I might make here or there, the outside and inside are done for now.

I've been working on it since late Thursday night. I put pretty much all of Friday, Saturday and a good portion of Sunday into it.

A lot of it was trial and error. It took an extreme amount of effort for me to design it because I have a bad habit of making everything I build very uniform and square-ish. May not be much, but I'm proud of it. Definitely the grandest thing I've built yet.

And that's alright about the stream, I'm glad you showed up as often as you did.
