[Anime] Free! (KyoAni)

So this anime really is happening.





Kyoto Animation unveiled its new swimming team anime, Free!, on Friday. The television anime is based on Kōji Ōji's High Speed!, an honorable mention recipient in the 2nd Kyoto Animation Award in 2011. Hiroko Utsumi of Animation DO is directing the anime, and Masahiro Yokotani is supervising the scripts. Futoshi Nishiya is designing the characters, and Tatsuya Katou is composing the music.

Much of the same team created the "Suiei-hen" (Swimming) anime commercial that was unveiled last month.

The main cast are Nobunaga Shimazaki, Tatsuhisa Suzuki, Tsubasa Yonaga, Daisuke Hirakawa, and Mamoru Miyano (Rin Matsuoka).

Well, this is surprising. Never thought it would actually get its own series considering what Kyoani had been doing.

This will provide me with good laughs.

I'd still watch it just to see how good the water animation would be

All that butthurt from just being a All male cast, when there's Tennis no Oujisama, Slam Dunk and Kuroko no Basket who practically did the same thing.

I'll probably be watching this. Hopefully it won't be schlock.

Probably give the first ep a shot, but if it gets too homo-ish, I'm out.

I really hope that KyoAni made this because some fujoshi invaded their studio and held a gun at their head...if they didn't (no! don't even think about it me!)

absolutely loving all the hate this series is getting already...its really laughable.

Tack me on to the list of people going to watch, I'm really interested to see if they actually have any races against other teams.

I neither watcher nor read them though.

Also, any chance this would have anything like daily life of highschool boys? If yes, then I might reconsider watching.

Probably not as wacky, the synopsis says it's going to be about Competitive swimming and rivalry. It's probably going to be like Umisho with KyoAni's SoF Qualities.

This is a complete original Series, it's not an adaptation (It's an "adaptation" of that CM that KyoAni did)

Hm, I see. One last, most important thing. Is it gay?

It's going to be bromance for sure, but don't know about gay, since it's a completely new, so no one knows till it airs.

The minute this anime becomes gay is the time where this anime is the next Boku no Pico where it's the talk of the anime community (without the sexual content of course.)
