i know that two of my other freinds claim to not watch porn but they are kinda weird addicts of harem anime... but those shows generally bore me now that i just wach hentai and read doujins, i used to like love hina but i cant really get into the whole harem scene much anymore, it just feels kinda dumb or i end up compleatly despising the male character.keitaro is too klutzy to live,saito from zero no tsukaima is to sleazy to live and i cannot beleive tskune could fucking live that damn long...graaah.

Now, I think you're asking, "Does watching harem shows lead to watching hentai?" When it comes to that, I have to say . . . probably. The reason people watch harem shows and ecchi shows is to see T&A, right? If you have hentai, that solves that problem, unless you want to see the romance involved, or something.

Gateway drugs to what? Other anime, or hentai? Harem anime in my opinion are usually done pretty badly since the manga is usually better. More often than not, you'll tend to seek better anime than anything else.

Some harem animes are really stupid but I watch harem animes just for some funny moments cuz usually they have lots them.

You people are missing the point: One should watch these harem anime titles only for the ecchi fanservice that the various female characters provide, ranging from cleavage all the way to pantyshots. Who cares about the main protagonist, unless of course one is a fangirl? :D
Sometimes, not being able to see a particular character is his/her full naked glory may turn a person on more than hentai would, since imagination can be quite a powerful tool.
