Has a character's design ever inspired you to check out a show?

I will admit that I probably never would've watched Gurren Lagann if it weren't for the pictures I kept seeing of Viral and Adianne, especially of them together. I got curious, did a little research, and voila! Instant crack addiction. The same thing happened with Baccano, though I haven't really kept up with that series like I did the former.

Cheza from Wolf's Rain. My young mind was tantalized by the skin tight suit. By the time it was over it'd become one of my most favorite animes.

whenever I admit something it just seems to be a reaction that I do.

I think a number of anime that I picked up where brought to my attention when I was younger, checking out various anime chicks online.

I bought Moon Phase just because I saw Hazuki in her white dress and neko-mimi :3

Character design : one of my way of judging whether the anime is good or not which also helps when i try a new anime ... you will be surprise how many aspect i judge for anime and manga....

Come to think of it, my answer is yes, especially when the character design resembles that of Shinobu Maehara or Nodoka Miyazaki.

-Haruna Sairenji (To Love Ru) and Tamaki (Bamboo Blade) resemble Shinobu.
-Aoi Oribe (Myself; Yourself) resembles Nodoka.

Most of the manga I read because I saw some interesting character designs in them, like DearS. On the other side, there's been only one or two anime that I've watched because of character designs.

yep, art / character design is usually the first thing that grabs my attention when im on the lookout for new stuff, of course the downside to that is alot of stuff only has the art going for it, everything else about the work just fails

Yes, I watched Code Geass because I got really curious about C.C.

Osaka brought my attention to Azumanga and I've seen Rozen Maiden because I wanted to see the desu queen in action.

same the reason i got into rozen maiden was because of the desu queen as well

When I saw Yoko from Gurren Lagann, I did raise an eyebrow and started looking from where she was.
I think I did the same with Diebuster aswell, though I can't remember which character.

I can't think of any specific character designs that got me to watch a series. I think it's because I do it for almost everything I watch. The first thing I notice are the character designs and if they appeal to me. Soul Eater is the perfect example of this. I really like the characters/style. Sometimes I'll even put off watching something because I don't really like the design too much. I recent example would be Kaiba. The style is very unique and I didn't really like it at first. Then I watched the next couple and I love it. Wish they would sub 5 and 6 though...
