its not a boy or a girl its Hideyoshi.

I bet the author have no idea what gender Crona is, yet he made.....Crona. Mostly likely a girl since I don't see many anime that has a girlxboy best friends thing going on.

I had gone under the assumption that Crona was a boy, mostly because of his/her line in the church while facing Maka about "not being good at talking to girls" or something along those lines.

Plus it's just safer that way XD

I agree. Plus, I remember something about medusa (the one who injected black blood in crona) talking to dr. frankenstein in a battle, calling crona her daughter/son/whatever, I forgot what she said. I remember letting out a loud "ooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh..." when I discovered what crona's gender is on that particular episode. I dunno, I watched soul eater ages ago. :D

Even if it's revealed to be a boy, I'll always see Chrona as a chick. A very hot flat girl.

I have to say I am a HUGE Crona fan, I mean I love Crona wether Crona is a he or a she, I think Crona is just a fantastic character and In a strange way is alot like myself (I know alot of people say stuff like that but its really true).

I have thought about it like most and I would probably say that alot of the evidence suggests Crona is a girl but because of that I actually think he is more like a boy :)

I always thought crona was a guy I never saw any confusion to think other wise.

No explanation, just my answer and that's it.

I always saw Crona as a girl. Even going so far as to think if Crona was a boy the name would then be Chrono or Crono to suggest a male character. In the show, the way Maka treats Crona is more of something I would imagine a girl treats another girl who is going through a hard time. But that could just be me. Anyway you look at it, Crona is a well made androgynous character.

Oh I forgot to mention that Medusa's influence seemed to match that of a mother-daughter relationship (even if it was twisted).
