Cowboy Bebop. I started watching anime because of Ranma 1/2 and Samurai X reruns on AXN, but didn't start getting into anime before I saw Cowboy Bebop.

Bebop was a ground breaking series in my book. It had the action and look of an anime, but the dark and serious feel of a nior film. It had the futuristic appeal similar to that of Gundam series of the past, as well the flair and confidence of classic Westerns. It was truly a masterpiece. The gradual character development, the amazing sound track, the detailed animation, and the perfect mix of comedy, romance, and action. But probably the best part was that they kept the series 26 episodes long, 27 counting the movie. They kept it tasteful and were smart in delivering their end product, they knew they didn’t need to have 100+ episodes and a live-action remake. Class. I know i just made you jizz in your make believe pants. No not you, they guy with the 3DS behind you.

Anyway, whatever I say about the series will not do justice, to what truly was an amazing piece of work. But I will try to encapsulate the essence of the series through my interpretation of its last couple episodes.. which perhaps will be coming soon.

So if you havent watched this series, give it a watch through.

Just made an account to post here even tho' i have been coming to this site for a couple months now. xD

Back in the day i knew them as only "cartoons" but they were:

Saint seiya, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, Dragon Quest aka "Las Aventuras de Fly" (in spanish) and of course
the one i love and keep watching up until now: Slam Dunk!

I've never been much into anime but i'm trying to change that, Fairy Tail is doing a good job at it. =)

My Father had me watch the first two seasons of Star Blazers. The only anime I watched at home aside from Star Blazers was Zoids: Chaotic Century when it was on adult swim. I never watched DBZ because of my mother and I only caught one or two episodes of Lupin III and Case Closed at my grandmothers. And that's it for my childhood anime experience. Wasn't until 2009 that a good friend reintroduced me to anime.

I think mine were Pokemon and Card Captor Sakura. Good memories.

Not gonna lie. Bleach was the first real anime I actually "watched". Which is a shame 'cause now I can't even enjoy it.

Um Sailor Moon, Knights of the Zodiac, and Dragonball.

I'm from Mexico and all these came out in the early 90's.

Ninja Scroll movie and Akira got me into anime those were the first animes i ever saw.

Most of the people I know doesn't know of this anime but when I was a kid I loved to play basketball and cartoons, during that time they were showing an anime called SLAM DUNK! That's what got me interested then I watched DBZ as time passed by I became a anime-freak no more like full on otaku.

As most people on fakku and everywhere else xD. DBZ, got me into anime.

For me, it was DBZ and Pokémon, those, along with other series such as Ranma 1/2, Sailor Moon and Saint Seiya were the first anime series I knew of here in Mexico, the first ones transmitted in local channels anyway.
