Hi I'm here to ask some of your Opinion since i can't make up my mind on whether getting into KanColle is worth the effort, time & hassle
since well i can't read JP (i did find a partial english patch though, & to be able to play/register you need to win a lottery, plus the proxy connection & setting the time to +9 GMT & etc
so.. is it worth it? i just need to hear if it's worth it or not, like what im getting into & what im missing out on?

I think it doesnt.. That's my opinion because I don't really like that kind of game (eroge are much more fulfilling)
But I admit that KanColle MOE!!

[color=#993300]English Patches tend to be found and banned by the makers of KanColle, it's a great game, but you might end up wasting a lot of time. I've played it since a month after it came out when I was still in Japan. Now that I have everything....well I quit but that was recently. The game will bring great joy and frustration, but I like it
And the characters....

Honestly, I don't think so. You're better off sticking to the porn and putting that time and effort into other things.
Like Touhou! :D

I would say so. I have a few friends who play it, and it looks like tonnes of fun. Only reason I haven't touched it is because of the lack of any japanese skill in me. My friends barely know it though, and said it's easy enough to figure out what you're doing. Something about a guide to get you started, understanding what certain buttons are/ do, and you learn from there.

I was thinking of trying it out this summer myself actually. Was willing to proxy and I think my jp level would make it managable without guides and all that jazz.
But then I found out about the lottery registry thing.. It just sounded horribly obtuse and I couldnt really understand what the game distributers even get out of it. Forcing people to enter a (daily?) lottery for a chance to play your game.. does this produce hype for it somehow? Wouldnt it just discourage new players? Obviously it isnt a problem with all the hype around the series but it just seems so strange to me.
Maybe it is part of a marketing strategy to get kanecolle floating around on social media alot since the lottery times are announced on a fb page I believe?
Anyway, I decided to just stick with playing eroge and dsII.

There's anime and PSVita game coming soon, better stay as secondary.
If you really want to play it, bookmark their Twitter (lottery schedule) and the English Wikia.
Game is pretty fun for 1-2 months. First month for learning the basic and second month for beating Map 2-4. It's quite boring now, Spring event ended a month ago.
Also, there's 'Let's Play' Kancolle in YT? For what purpose?

I'd say no, as stated, they dislike oversea players accessing their game (forcing oversea players to use proxy's and patches, to witch they seek out and attack). If a maker of a game doesn't want me to play it, I have a hard time finding motivation too, but when they go as far as hunting you down... especially in a mmo, whose data is stored on their servers, and is lost upon lost of the account... When they even give a hard time for even their desired consumer base to access the game... I have a hard time viewing the company favorably (I'd be a hypocrite if not, considering how much I attack DRM and online passes).
It's just one game, I really don't think it's worth the hassle of going through everything you have to for it, with the risk involved (lost of everythign game related). The difficulty of access may have just boosted it's desirability for being inaccessible for many, further bolstering it's hype.
(Honestly, I am surprise the game didn't simply go straight into hentai.. I have to wonder why they put the red line where they did... it's like a step or two away, all they need is a striped male, or simply 2 striped females, on top of each other.)
I do have to admit, as a micromanagement game, it does appeal to me, but they're others, accessible, to choose from.
I'd like to ask though, the PSVita version, has it been guaranteed to come to the states? If not betting on it is a gamble, though Senra Kagura was licensed...
