Kyouran Kazoku Nikki

The first episode starts off with a girl, with car ears and a tail, escaping from the local police, bumping into Midarezaki Ouka, an officer of the Paranormal Phenomena Bureau of Measures. She then introduces herself as Kyouran-sama, a 20-year-old.

Back at the headquarters of the Paranormal Phenomena Bureau of Measures, Ouka is tasked to save the world by marrying Kyouran, and finding the remaining 5 children of Enka, a monster from a thousand years ago, before getting slain, vowed that its child will take revenge on its behalf. By forming a family with the children of Enka, the authorities hope to prevent the destruction of Earth.

Along the way, the remaining 5 children are found.
-Yuka, a normal looking girl.
-A jellyfish
-Hyouka, a biological weapon (which resembles a Predator)
-Teika, a lion
-A possible gay with name yet to be revealed... or I did not catch it

What adventures will the dysfunctional family get into and can Ouka save the world?

In my opinion, Kyouran Kazoku Nikki falls right into the comedy genre, with heartwarming family scenes thrown in every now and then. The speed at which Kyouran speaks is amazingly fast, a possible factor for amusing viewers. One does not get the typical beautiful artwork; cute would be an apt description. Filled with fast-paced craziness, Kyouran Kazoku Nikki is sure to tingle your senses.

I'm assuming the speed at which Kyouran talks is like in Puni Puni Poemy. Well, I already decided to at least try this series, but it sounds crazier than I expected, this should be interesting. Oh yeah, when I clicked on the first picture, I thought to myself, "Oh look, Mewtwo in his armor is in here." The resemblance is uncanny ... until you look at the fifth image.

Fast paced and silly. Only watched half of the episode, couldn't stand to watch anymore.

I watched the first episode. It's no where near as close to the Puni Puni Poemy speed I was expecting. I mean, I didn't even need to pause the video. I look forward to finding out Yuka's secret and more antics from the Laharl-turned-neko Kyouran.

I like the show so far but Kyouran is an absurdly annoying character. Given that she is in a central role and the cause of most of the action I may wind up dropping the series if I can't either learn to like/stand her or she doesn't get somewhat shunted in place of the other characters.
