In one part of the episode Konata's dad goes to make some cup ramen and after he seems to have made it he says "played me like a fool" and seems upset about something. Is this just some sort of translation error or can someone explain what I'm not getting.

Another unrelated example: You want to eat a cereal, pour the cereal in to a bowl, but there is no milk left
