Male protagonists, grow some sack

My previous post made me think for a bit; what the hell is wrong with Shiro (Fate/Stay night)? Why do other male protagonists always seem to be gigantic vaginas? What other male characters would you place in the "fuck i hate this guy" category?

I've only watched a hand full of anime but I'm going to say:

Shiro (Fate/Stay Night)
Raki (Claymore)
Makoto (School Days - for sheer fagotry and crying in the last couple episodes)

feel free to add to the list as I have only watched a limited amount of anime so far.

In terms of characters "growing some sack" I wonder how different NGE would have been if Shinji had a pair.

Probably a hentai version like that where he rapes everyone.

For me basically any male protagonist that goes down easily and cry...

I would name some, but it pretty much applies to every protagonist from every romantic-comedy, although I wouldn't go so far as to say I "hate" them.

Corporal Randal Oland, Pumpkin Scissors.

Served as genetic and psychological modification fodder in a "Top Secret" branch of WWII-era warriors, 2.25 meters tall, wide and musculer, and trained to take on tanks...from point blank range.

Meaning he is essentially a berserker, and he uses a Hand Cannon to fire AP rounds at tanks from right in their fucking face.

And what does he do when faced with angry people with guns? He gets sad about killing people. And then he turns on his blue lamp. And murders everyone. Then regrets his actions.

God...it annoys me to no end.

Yuji Sakai, Shakugan no Shana Second

Allright, so Season 1 he had an excuse to be nothing more then a wimpy male lead. S2, he's got power reserves equaling a fairly powerful Crimson Lord, and for all but one episode, he spends his time alternately reflecting on how two girls love him, screaming, being kidnapped, screaming, and being a general pussy.

The "Final Boss Yuji" episode doesn't help matters, because after we see him swinging a giant sword and throwing fireballs, we never quite understand what prompts him to go back to screaming and being kidnapped.

In before Gundam Seed Destiny Flame War. :D

Hate would be too strong a term for me. Personally, I would say Shinn from GSD has gotten on my nerves more than once, probably due to his self-righteousness.

Yeah, Shinn needs to get over himself and stop blaming ORB for a freak occurrence. I kept hoping he'd kick the bucket at some point, but no luck.

Shirou never got on my nerves except when he was acting hideously stupid, like trying to fight Gilgamesh on his own near the end of the series. Other than that, I thought he had his share of cool moments, probably moreso in the game.

The only person I can name off the top of my head who really annoys me is Saito from Zero no Tsukaima. I keep waiting for him to grow a pair, smack Louise upside the head, then tie her to the bed and make her beg to be his bitch... but alas, no luck there either.

As for Shiro when he grows a pair...he really grows a pair. cough Archer cough

As for Shinji....he had a pair of testies...he went out and risked his life in many eps of NGE to go and kill some Angel mother fuckers. But when you put your whole vaule of your life on being a soilder (like he did)...and when you finally get someone to say they love you to your face.
Then are forced to kill them (Karwou), you kinda feel like shit. You beging to pull evil shit, like he did when he whacked off to Asuka in EoE.

Could have been worse, he could laid down and gave up like Asuka did (Rep pawnge in 5, 4,3...) In the end he did grow a pair...hence why he emerged from the sea of Tang....as did Asuka.


I hate it when people simply dismiss Shinji as an emo fag. As everyone in NGE is an Emo fag...that was the entire point of the series. That like watching Brokeback Mountain and complaing about only one of the characters being gay.

Shinji had the potential to become a real hero, it's just that he had such a crap environment and role models that his best heroic characteristics only came out, like, once in the whole series, that one time being the battle with Zeruel when he willingly pushed 01 into a berserker fury, rather than it just happening spontaneously like it usually did.

If you want to know what Shinji could've been, take a look at Simon from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann; they start off as basically the same person, but their development goes in two completely different directions thanks entirely to the influences of their respective role models (Kamina vs Gendo).

Shirou (Fate/Stay Night) because he always act dumb or pussy, often doing things he should already now that doesn't work and putting other in danger.

Shinji (NGE) is always crying. Even though he has his reasons, it's just tiresome to see how submissive he is. Many problem would've been avoided if he acted more like a man.

Raito (Death Note) is not really a pussy, but I got sick of him after he became so cold he doesn't care about his family and loses track of his objective.

Funny, that he ends up being the definition of GAR
