Monogatari series, where do I start?

Just as the title asks, where would I start? I know nothing of this series and would love some guidance on where the best place to start is. Thanks to anyone who replies!

If you are talking about the anime, then start with Bakemonogatari, Nisemonogatari, Nekomonogatari then catch up with the rest of the viewers with Bakemonogatari season 2.

For the light novels, incomplete translations on Baka-tsuki but they plan on doing most (if not all) of the novels in the anime so meh.

The Kizumonogatari (movie coming never) and Otorimonogatari LN's are translated. Watch the anime in the order WideEyedMan said. Kizumono isn't necessary to follow the storyline of the series but if you want to read it, do it before Monogatari Season 2.

Like WideEyed said, go Bake > Nise > Neko > Monogatari S2. That's the order SHAFT animated them.

Hanamonogatari will be out soon as well, so keep an eye out for that if you still happen to be interested.

Haven't watch it yet but from what I've heard, there's one where it took place before bakemonogatari but aired in a later date.

I'd say you should start from the anime that aired sooner so it would have a "Woah, WHAT A PREQUEL." Kind of feel. :)

Nekomonogatari-Black. It's not that great and it's not required to watch since an episode in Bakemonogatari goes over the events in Nekomonogatari-Black anyways.

• The only thing out of chronological order here is Neko kuro, so you might as well watch them in the order they were aired/animated. They even tell you at the start of Neko kuro that it's a prequel to Bake.

• Neko white is in monogatari S2.

だから。。。about kizumono ...read the novel.... tired of waiting... it is available to download at baka-tsuki..

about the nekomono shiro.... its true it is part of monogatari second series, i prefer to write them off..

Monogatari second series consist of : Nekomonogatari (white), Kabukimono, Otorimono,Onimono, Koimono respectively.. they all not included in one novel, instead they have their own.. Hanamono is also Included in Monogatari second series but i dunno what the hell shaft thinking...

for the record..
this one i prefer to watch the anime... the novel is very boring and contains hard kanji -___-.. so i just read the first one because it was translated by baka-tsuki..

hoping that kizumono movie is release soon (same as EVA 4.44)
