war anime

hi all,

don't know if this is the right place to put it but i'm looking for a war anime like in the time of the world wars without mecha's and sci-fi stuff

i hope some1 knows a few

I cannot think of any good war anime w/o Mecha or lazers.

although it's not any particular war you could investigate Full Metal Panic and FMP the second raid.

Those would go under the "Mecha" category.

I haven't seen it all though, only the first 3 epi's.

is the record of lodoss war a good anime?? i've seen it but don't know if i should down it

but i must say that i'm pretty disappointed that there isn't alot of this genre.

and i hope that ppl don't think i hate mecha etc because i love it but i would want to see more modern age till 100-200 years age war anime.

Sorry, but WW2 is a popular FPS genre, not an anime genre. Most anime wars take place in either Mecha/Lazer times or Swords/Fireballs time.

Well...I could technically reccomend Pumpkin Scissors, which is a wonderful anime [size=6](WITH NOT ENOUGH DOUJINS, I ADD[/h], but it takes place after a WW2-era war. Still plenty of bolt-action rifles.

Lodoss war is pretty good, too, but I cannot for the life of me find any good subs for it. The dub scares me.

been watching pumpkin scissors the last 2 days.

i still think it's to bad there aren't alot anime's with that kind of settings because i like war stories in general but have seen alot mecha/future anime's with a war theme so i thought why not somehing more in our time or a few years ago.

and the reason i didn't download lodoss war is because no subber has subbed it entirely

Mmm, the war ends in epi 4 of allison and lillia...but it'll probably get restarted later on or something...
