What makes an anime hero?

List off your characteristics for what makes an anime " Hero".

Anyway, you asked about the anime or its protagonist ?
As for me, the character in your avatar is what I call a hero. He is a good example.

It's the things you do that really define who you are. If you can accomplish even the smallest task, you may become large in someone's eyes.

That alone, is enough to make you someone's hero.

I guess the same can almost be said to anime protagonists

A hero (i think) should'nt have to judge others to determine his goal, as well as his determination for justice and righteousness.

All (anime) heroes have some type of amnesia.

Amnesia makes a (anime) hero.

I think what makes a hero is his attitude. There are many types of heroes in anime but one quality I can think of that always stands out is determination.

I think you mean a Square Enix hero.

Generally you would list the traditional traits i.e, courage, wisdom, etc etc. Personally, I find initiative, compassion, and rationality to be the most attractive in terms of character composition. (At least, it's enough for me to consider them a "hero" or "heroine" in my book.)
