Big Changes to COMIC X-EROS?

I read on Twitter (or X) some auto-translated tweets that seemed to suggest some big changes to COMIC X-EROS. I checked Wani's site aswell.

Basically from this month's release (#105) X-EROS will just be available electronically, not anymore in print.

Also, and more relevant for Fakku, they will reduce the number of pages to around 250 pages (Atleast judging from this months release) and it will be switched back after a long time to a monthly release schedule.

Can someone confirm or deny this? I imagine it won't have a massive impact on Fakku, although we'll probably see more regular X-EROS chapters.

You hit on pretty much all the points, but to sum it up: Comic X-Eros is going digital only—a common trend across the industry nowadays which doesn't impact us—and moving from a bi-monthly to monthly release schedule. It's too early to comment on how the size of the magazine will evolve as part of this change, but #105 has around 240 pages of content (excluding ads). For reference, only four issues have exceeded that page count (adjusted for them being bi-monthly) in the last three years, and the average volume size for this year has been just below 400 pages.

I do expect the number above to go down a bit, as event issues like this relaunch are often bigger to commemorate the occasion, but even then this will likely result in more X-Eros content, released more frequently going forward.

good catch!
i was wondering why they announced that issue #106 will be coming on the 11th of december instead of january like usual (every uneven month thus far). cause the only time they broke that rule was for issue #100 (which released a couple of days before christmas '22 instead of jan' 23).

wani FINALLY made an official tweet as well (always last minute with these folks):

It's the flow of the times
In Japan, feminist pressure has virtually made it impossible to sell erotic books in convenience stores.
This pressure continued in bookstores as well, with Toranoana also closing down except for its Ikebukuro store.

However, it is not a bad thing to make it a monthly publication and reduce the number of pages.
Remuneration to manga artists is now paid a little faster, and the price has dropped, making it easier to buy only the volumes you want.

the official reason given for the toranoana closures was simply dwindling business due to most ppl buying digital or via mailorder these days (mailorder spiked during the pandemic and many ppl just continued to order online). there's only so much store exclusive benefits can do to have ppl actually go there.
and the one store that's still open mainly serves fujoshi lol

but it is true that almost all hentai mags these days employ this ugly 'white out' censorship and they even force taiwanese retailers like future digi to sell their works slightly censored even though taiwan allows uncensored hentai. so the japanese government is defininitely on a crusade. given their society, it's most likely conservative old men and not 'feminists' pulling the strings lol
