yuri-ism Lesbians!
I want to share something we’ve been working on for awhile, and I’m glad we can finally show our first official project with everyone! A long time ago we got in a discussion with the yuri artist Isya (434notfound) about helping her with doing an English release. We had talked to her years ago when we first started translating her work, and we wanted to see how we could help give back. We are teaming up with Isya to make her doujinshi available in English! For this first release the typesetting, sfx and even the initial translation was all done by her. She endured hundreds of corrections over the course of a few months as she learned English typesetting from scratch. She came a long way from her initial drafts, so while this may not be what you’d expect from something we’d typeset, she put her heart and soul into doing every last change, even down to drawing all the English sfx herself.

This is a whole new experience for us, and we certainly still have a lot to learn, but it has been an enjoyable journey working with Isya. I can appreciate an artist that takes so much time to talk to her English fans and the amount of effort she put into this project with us.

With that said, we’re going to be slowly moving into a more active role by solely doing the translation and eventual typesetting for her. But she may continue to do drawn English sfx as we go on. Again, this is a new experience for everyone involved, so please feel free to give us feedback on this release. We plan to improve greatly with each coming release for her.

If you have any feedback or questions, drop em here. I'd love to hear them. Isya is also fairly proficient in English, so I'd like to have her on in some capacity to talk to her English fans as well. So if you got questions or comments directly for her, leave them here too. She's been super cool with us for a long time, and I hope you guys like it as much as I did working on it.

So for the first time a doujinshi straight from an artist is being made available on FAKKU! Click the image below to view it on the store, like all FAKKU releases there are a bunch of high quality download links available once you complete the purchase. Let us know what you think and if you like it, we'll do more!

Yum, Yuri. Just picked this one up. It's pretty cool that the artist put so much effort into helping to do the english release herself. I think I might have to keep an eye on her and her works. I'm looking forward to reading it later this weekend.

I really enjoyed the 2 later stories can't wait to see more works by 434. I'm a bit new to doujins so it's nice to see the artists caring so much about us in the foreign market :)

Looks nice. Great work by all involved! If only it wasn't for a series I don't really care about, would buy it immediately otherwise.

This is great, I'll be happy to support her. Any chance on print editions in the future (maybe a compilation)?

Since the doujinshi is released on fakku, why is it still censored?
An uncensored version would make me consider buying it, but a censored version not so much.

It's really nice to see how Japanese artists are broadening their horizons though!

I believe I read that the author herself drew it like that originally.

For originals, yes. But printing parody work is still kind of a grey area.

As for censorship, it's how it was illustrated originally. She's going to lower censorship on the next works and hopefully we can eventually do uncensored for the English releases.

Magazine's censor artists work, so they always have an uncensored copy available. For doujinshi artists, they usually just illustrate with censorship in mind. Unfortunate, but hopefully things will change!

Ah that was stupid of me, I totally forgot it was a parody since I'm not familiar with that franchise. Yeah I knew that was a gray area legally speaking.

By the way, shouldn't the digital purchase appear under the 'Books' link under your account or something? I can access it fine otherwise, I just don't see an obvious way to find it in the future other than making a collection (which I'm doing now) or a browser bookmark.

Not to big into Yuri but I'm all for supporting getting artists interested in selling to their western fans.

Yes, Yes, and Yes. Lovely Yuri a true weakness. You have my money. Hopefully we can get physical editions. This is my first time seeing Isya's work. Hope to see more hopefully unedited. Thanks to all who support this and thanks to the artists and Fakku for making it happen.

We'll probably have to add a new tab for doujin purchases (this is only the first).

Thanks for explaining, I didn't realize that doujinshi are censored by the auther since they are self published. Makes sense of course :)
And it would indeed be great if it were possible to get an uncensored version in the future! Seeing how the censorship got unbearable a few years ago in a lot of works that would be a most welcome change.

This looks really good. Great to see some doujin work. I'm not really into yuri but I might just pick this up.

Awesome! Glad to see a fan translation team and original artists teaming up to move the industry forward for english speakers :)

I like that Fakku has taken a step forward in releasing doujins and yuri works. I definitely appreciate this. However, I have a couple of issues. The first is simply that I am not interested in a doujin based on this series. The second is that I would rather get a physical release too. The price is fine for a digital only release, but what about a physical option in the future?

Looking forward to Isya's next work. Hopefully it will be a series or original work I am more interested in.

Thank you for all the feedback. I am discussing with her about a book option for Zero, her original story. With her new additions to it, it would be roughly 160-200 pages long. Which I think would be perfect for a book.

I'm hoping to have more info about this within the week. Stay tuned.
