Older Magazine Issues

I know a lot of us would like to get some of the older issues released from before fakku got the licenses (I for my part especially want to get older issues of BEAST) and I think in another thread it was mentioned the fakku team would need to by the licenses for older issues.
So why not get the money via kickstarter? You could make a standard tier for 20$ which gets the backer a one month subscription extension coupon and higher tier with digital bundles or magazine downloads. I would gladly support the project!

I gladly echo this sentiment.

I agree 100% I would back it to the full poetential that all my disposable income will allow me.

However Kickstarter will not let them hold a Kickstarter for straight porn, I understand that there are other crowdfunding sites I am simply pointing out the Kickstarter policy. Someone out there reading this would now want to mention some other ones that have slipped through the crack that were porn, let me just say I know about those.

On the flip side and please excuse me for saying this...I want more physical books with older stuff in it, and a small, small, tiny part of me says that if they start licensing backwards they will focus less on books with older material.

Spoiler:
I would suggest a higher tier subscription where they will have more funds to license and work on older magazines, however it was already stated that the subscription would not increase. Putting a whole new section behind an additional Pay wall may not be the best idea. Users still complain that they signed up for FAKKU! to read everything and are upset that the books are not included.

However, yes I would still contribute in any way whatsoever, if it means more E-Musu Aki, Hamao, and Okumoto Yuta, the Loli Oppai chapter by Okumoto Yuta from COMIC Kairakuten Beast 2016-03 interest me greatly.

I didn't think of this possibility and I must say I also don't want older books to be forgotten or subscribers to be angered!

One could handle it like the Overfiend project and work on it parallel to the regular stuff. Did they hire additional people for the Overfiend books? If so one could , once they completed all books, let the additional team translate the older issues and then sell them like books but only as digital releases (or even put up a campaign to print the books)...

Theoretically IF big IF, they do have a whole other group translating the Overfiend series then they could use them for something else...but they would have to keep working on More Kickstarter books, because after Legend of The Overfiend they will do a Kickstarter for La Blue Girl, I think.

Also when I look at the credits page for Overfiend and Metamorphosis the people involved doesn't show it as a whole new team.

As for campaigns to print the books...well it goes without saying I want more FAKKU! Books, I hate to be negative but it seems like the pace at which FAKKU! Books have been released since the new year has been very slow.

I actually wanted to circle back around to a more premium subscription tier, I had mentioned this before in another thread so I will just repost:

Spoiler:
A more premium tier for the subscription. This more premium tier would cost more per month, but it would also have more benefits:

1) Access to all subscription chapters and Doujinshi on the site. You won't have access to download the Doujinshi just have access to read them, yes I know the plan is to make all Doujins on the site available to subscribers after some time but this just cuts to the chase.

2) you receive a credit every month which gives you access to add a FAKKU book to your online account. Once again you can't download the book but you can read it online, via redeeming your FAKKU credit.

3) you get 50% off on any digital book you have redeemed with a FAKKU credit, and 25% off any physical book you have redeemed with a FAKKU credit.

4) If FAKKU chooses to do a subscription yearbook, then as a premium subscriber your vote for which chapter gets included in the magazine counts for 2 votes not 1. (Note this only applies if there will be a voting system in place for a special anniversary yearbook that wasn't even announced as official)

5) when you send in a support ticket it gets priority over none premium members (FAKKU support is already very fast, this is just a filler thing which does make some people happy to know if they have a problem they will be addressed faster.)

Also Gods if it seems like I am being negative to your suggestions please know that is not my intention. I really do agree with what you are saying.

Older Magazines
Older books
More Sequels
Etc.

I seriously hope the FAKKU! Crew sees your post and takes it under serious advisement

Don't worry, as I see it we are brainstorming which I always greatly enjoy! Who knows, maybe one of our ideas even gets picked up....

You got me with that one...

Let's just hope it doesn't stay this way. Jacob said sometime last year that on the long run he wanted to increase the book releases to two per month, so fingers crossed...

I had a similar idea of a premium tier some time ago, but mine was more centered on downloading the magazine chapters:
You would be able to download all the chapters/magazines which were released while your subscription was active and you would get the chance to download magazine releases from the missing months by paying a token of one Dollar per issue.

But I like your idea of discounts for subscribers very much!

The problem with older magazine releases isn't so much the cost but the extra work it creates for our Japanese partners. For every magazine and every month you have 15-25 different artists, and these are artists who might no longer work with Wani and could possibly have severed all ties, might no longer work with h-material at all and want no involvement with it or don't want their material reprinted, or in extreme cases they might not even remain in the country or be alive.

This leaves us with a few options:
1. Don't compensate any artist - while I think this is technically something we could do, we wouldn't want to due to moral/business reasons.
2. Only compensate current collaborators - similar situation.
3. Track down every artist and negotiate with them - a lot of work for our Japanese partners.

I don't mean to shut down the conversation. Feel free to carry on, but keep in mind that money is not the biggest hurdle when it comes to old magazines.

This said, the saddest thing about the H industry is there is little to no news at all about the artists (at least for us overseas readers). Unless you work for/with the publisher or such, you will never know what's going on behind the scenes, or what unfortunate things have happened to the creators of your favorite hentais. Truly a sacrifice being a H artist comparing to a normal Manga/LN one. :(

i think i rather see fakku move forward and put that effort towards getting magazines from different publishers

just my two cents

Maybe not all the back issue but those issue were some of the series are in might be an option? Missing some of the first and second chapters to a series does mess up that the earlier plot was. A few of them never got a scanlation in the first place.
