I just noticed that the User Uploads section is invisible to unregistered users now (how long has it been like that?), and I don't think that it will be that much of a problem if we don't have to worry about those guys.If we needed to take a vote from the Fakku Uploaders on whether or not to implement a post count limit, I would side with whatever they choose.

A couple of weeks ago I could still go to the manga uploads section without logging in. I know I wasn't just seeing things...

You know what would be wonderful? A bit of Javascript... that monitored the users clicks on files.
So a user CLICKS a link, and the Javascript triggers, logging the link clicked and username. When there's a fuckton of clicks and users, it might be difficult, but it could be put to use where people are often reporting links to ban said users from the forums.
Of course, this idea would require every user entering the site to agree to monitored link clicks with the EXPLICIT PROMISE that the information won't be used for ANYTHING but link report protection.

That would be really cool actually. I don't see why anyone would have a problem with it. This is a hentai site after all, we all come here for the same purpose and really don't have anything to hide as far as I can see.
That would make things so much simpler too. Just permaban the fucker, and we don't have to worry about all this post count crap.

But wouldn't FF with No Script render that useless? I hope everyone uses no script by now.

arhh farkk, why can't we just left in peace to do our stuff? Do these link reporters think they're some sort of Defender of Justice??
Still I don't think just having posting requirements is going to change much. Sure it would mean more effort but clearly these people already have too much time on their hands to go and pretend to be internet heroes. There is still the anonymity which protects them.
I'm thinking maybe people that wants to download something should send like an email/pm to either the uploader/another dedicated person with all the links asking for it. This way there is a precise record of who has downloaded what and if anything gets taken off, people that have asked the links become the suspects for our link reporter. It sort of is like the JAVA script thing mentioned before but I guess this is less technical. Obviously this would mean there is a delay time for downloading and additional amount of work for the uploaders but I wouldn't really mind waiting for uploaders to mass bulk email the links to everyone.
Just my thoughts

I shall address the issues raised.
blackhairperson: This is technically horrible. If the uploader leaves his computer for a moment, it becomes an arduous task of trying to get the links and pass them on. A PHP script backed by a database seems like a good idea, and I'm having another that I'd like to discuss with Jacob right now. But he's asleep. JACOB IF YOU READ THIS, HIT ME UP ON AIM OR IRC.
Falcon: It wouldn't be hard to force the links to be used through Javascript so a noscript user has to accept it. - I don't have NoScript. I like websites living how they are meant to. It's no fun getting a spam link and not losing your tabs so your friends can laugh. : D
Shinichi: I've come across another idea that would work even better! So don't worry about the Javascript. I thought of it to, me using lynx and all.

Minimum post count should at least be 30+
The idea of e-mailing links is kinda off, but the the concept of keeping records on who downloaded is nice, like the ip address or of the sort? Tough work though.
But right now I'd opt for a minimum post count until the admins find a better solution to this problem.

Yes I am quite aware of that fact that it would be necessary to wait for the links to be passed on. I also did say that I wouldn't mind waiting a couple of days for the uploader to mass bulk email everyone who has asked for the link. Obviously I don't speak for everyone and I'm also not that knowledgable with computers so if the jave-script method works, go for it. I just wanna catch that s@n of a b@tch making life hard for everyone. :)

Listen, if the Uploader goes away forever, that's the links gone. If the uploader dies, or can't be bothered, that's the links gone. It's not a good system at all, and to be frank, I couldn't be FUCKED sending mass emails every fucking day. So not a workable idea at all. It doesn't give clicked order either.
TK201: Not the IP address. The system would log who downloaded the files. So, Hibia - http://www.megaupload/download.php?=penis would be a record. If the file gets removed, we take the address and get the logfile clean of all other addresses [easy] and then go to the user who reported it [easy] and move back from there, seeing who clicked. Make the link a passthrough PHP script that logs it and then sends the user to the site, so they can't just copy and paste it, and there's the Javascript aspect GONE.
But I have another system in place in my head, which I really want to talk to Jacob about.

Well, I think the plan you posted is going to work. Don't know about the other plan, but keep it a secret, just keep it between you and the admins or uploaders.

50-100 posts seems about right.
some leechers might just post lol 10x in different threads. :x
10 or 30? That's too lenient.

Instant ban on those, problem solved.

I agree. I'm not even close to 30 posts myself, but it's fair as can be.I'd rather have stuff waiting for me after 30 (relevant) posts, than I'd have some jerks flagging the stuff.
That's what I said in the first thread. I still agree with it. 30 posts, or even 50 - 100 is ok, I still feel the same.
Also, as said by Klorofolun:

And on that topic, if we see one user post only 30 times, then see links dropping dead, we can trace the snitch almost immediately and whack him with the ban hammer. :DOf course, that 30 can be changed to any number.
I think this is a really great idea.
