Good Morning Fakku,
I don't know if this idea has been posted yet and the search function is a work in progress, and the manual search function bored me after sifting through one page because I didn't know how to search this out. I decided to just make a new topic.
Anyways my idea is simple, could the implementation of a merging of identical English and Japanese books be possible? This seems unneeded (un-needed?) but it would help with the searching for a specific manga and just overall organization.
The function would be to the top right corner of the info bar and would be a simple Japanese and English flag which are buttons to switch between the Japanese and English works.
Searching of a specific manga is like if I'm looking for say Red Bravo and only know the English name but want the Japanese version (for whatever reason), although this is a terrible example since Red Bravo is the name for both English and Japanese versions.
It could be argued that this can also be done through finding what you want and clicking on artist which narrows the searching to a few one or two pages, 4 or 5 for the really popular artists or ones with series. Or just clicking Related Manga, your choice. Personally I'm a bit masochistic.
It could also be argued that all of the duplicates and translations have the same names, but I'd like to bring your attention to here...
First Date & Hatsu Date
They are both the same thing but I see nothing wrong with the first or second one, only different names. It could have been translated by different people, which I doubt. They were uploaded an exact week apart.<--Relevant? Nope I just like detective scenarios.
This is me pitying the Japanese versions which compared to their English counterparts are 14 favorites to 1,000.
This idea is just me thinking straight out of bed. I don't see it actually being implemented since Fakku seems to not really have a problem with the Japanese manga just being separate from the English ones, but I have nothing to lose so I'll just post my idea for ridicule or praise or for someone to feed it and make it into something even better.

I am confused, you want English and Japanese to categorized under the same language? Makes perfect sense.

Connect different uploads of the same manga(eng/jap,censored/un,uploaded by). through one button(i'm guessing).
i suppose it could be done through the title button on the mang info page. it would just require someone manualy searching them out and tieing them all together.

I can change them to the same name to make searching for an English version easier.
However, that seems to have been a translator choice, and both versions can easily be found by clicking the Author's name (which shows all works by them, in this case just these two uploads).

Something like this Donquixote.
Although it would look better since my photoshop skills are shoddy, third-rate really.
It would allow you to switch between Japanese and English versions of the same manga because the top uses the flags as buttons or it would be a pop out menu in read online..

This is a great idea. Your graphic is a nice demonstration of what you're talking about.
I'm not in any place of power to implement it, but it seems pretty sound. In the meantime, all I can say is maybe I (and the other taggers on the Helper team) can discuss making a practice of placing links to "twin" manga uploads in each one's description.

I like the idea. It'd be a lot easier than having to go through the author or the "Related Manga" drop down.

This is a good idea. It would decrease the number of manga's in this site by merging them with the other existent but different language manga's. But Wait... is there any manga named in Japanese in this site...?

I'm a little newblet. :) (Short and stout) [Edit]
This idea still needs some refinement though.
Like what would you do with the counters for Downloads and Favorites?
Similarly the comments. What would happen to the ones in both versions?
Either way the easy road or the hard road, this idea wouldn't seem very likely to be implemented because of the sheer amount of work that would be needed. What I'm suggesting is a change in the way FAKKU! organizes their things and that could in turn change the layout of FAKKU!. I cannot see into the future but if my idea somehow brings risk to a great site I'm not going to push for it.
And maybe I'm just over thinking this and Jacob or Mike or Santa Claus has an magical button that could fix all the problems in the world and make pudding/yogurt, who really knows?

So lets say that this idea has been used. If I were to search a manga in Japanese it would not appear because it would be merged with the English version right? so what if we gave the manga's that have been merged with the English ones a Japanese search name? like giving it a name that would only appear when searching... is that a good idea?

I kind of hinted at it since I didn't know what I was talking about but you explained it better, the names if different would be intertwined with each other. Why cancel out a name? Both the Japanese and English names are good, just because it's in a different language doesn't mean that it's not the name of the doujin. I see no good reason to get rid of one just because we can't read it. :)
