a suggestion from a new member.

first of all, let me apologize for not introducing myself properly, hello.

secondly, if this has been suggested before, please excuse my lack of knowledge.

now, finally, onto the suggestion, after finishing a doujin, i usually look at the top of the page list that hot links, then i look to the left at the fakku logo and attempt to use it as a hyper link back to the home page. it never works... (insert sad smiley here.) so, my suggestion is, if there is a possibility of making the fakku logo a splash image that redirects back to the main page? i would find that very convenient and im sure many others would as well.

Ah, I get what your saying, but it's meant to be a kind of low bandwidth page because the doujin itself is usually quite big.

For now, just hit the back button and then you can click the fakku logo or the main button to go back.

i have no problem doing that whatsoever, but its always nice to have a bit of a shortcut hehe.

This is a good suggestion and you should know that I was planning on doing that originally. I think I just ran into a CSS issue that I never got around to figuring out. Once I have some time I will definitely fix it, and if anyone knows basic CSS/HTML feel free to post the code and I can put it up.

well, for the html code you would have the

the tag would go like this example.

[code:1]<a href="myfile.htm"><img src="rainbow.gif"></a>[/code:1]

just change the mylife.htm to fakku.net and the img src the the file name of the fakku splash image.

im pretty sure that would be the easiest way, i could be wrong considering that im pretty new with html.

The problem is that the Fakku wording is actually a part of the background and the entire background would then become a giant link back to the front page and if someone clicked there on accident he'd probably get annoyed after a while. Then again they will learn not to eventually

Edit: In case you misinterpreted, when I said back button, I didn't mean the browser's back button but the text that says back at the top of the doujin page. that will take you to a page that has the huge fakku border and search box and you can click the banner to return to the main page.

i now understand why its more trouble than its worth...

if there is anyway whatsoever to isolate the splash image from the bg the same way some sites do with images they post that are either too large or are necessary to break up for the sole purpose of hotlinking to other parts of the site (due to the text for said link being a part of the image) then if i can provide images and code, (or any one else who ha more knowledge than i do that is willing to help), could that potentially work?

i dont want to wander off topic (i being a founding memeber of a large forum myself, i understand that one post going ot can ruin a topic) but. i work at a resturaunt and our cook's always joke about that. its good for a laugh when we are within earshot of customers (and there are no managers there at the time)

anyways, i havent done a whole lot of lurking yet, but another suggestion i would like to make is the possibility of an advertisement forum, for the sole purpose of promoting your own websites, or suggesting places to find new websites that pertain to our love for all things japan.

out of apparent ignorance im gonna go ahead and ask... hasnt the fakku banner always redirected to the main page? as long as ive been using the site (since mid '07) i have always used the banner as my colorful main page button. i dont understand why ive had this capability and nobody else has... im using internet explorer though, could that change things? i was just curious, sorry if this is spam.

after many years of viewing internet pron, i've gotten into the habit of right clicking and opening links in a new window(or tab). i got tired of having to back track through everything i already saw just to get back to the main or thumbnail page of some of the poorly designed sites. it wasn't until i saw this thread that i even looked at those buttons.
