Advanced search (and tag help)
0
Tagging is a great thing, because it helps folk find what they are searching for.
But I have a few questions about the advanced search functions.
First and foremost, does it follow the standard Boolean property procedure?
Second, is there any combination of "xxx - zzz" that either 1) wouldn't work, or 2) would result in no search results?

There's an advanced search? The more you know. Also no one is going to take this thread seriously, just sayin.

Some boolean operators (i.e. negation) are supported, with AND being the default parameter for your searches.
E.g: "darkskin color -netorare" will search for titles with both the darkskin and color tags and omit anything containing the netorare tag.
As far as I know, neither OR nor are phrases (e.g. "a good time" will return search for a+good+time) supported. By default, the search is among *all* categories of metadata - title, series, tags, etc.
Jacob has said he wants a lot of improvements to the search function, though how far he is in development or whether there's the faintest idea of a release is beyond my knowledge.
@Steven: You've just been proven to be wrong... now go into a corner and meditate on the error of your ways. Addendum: yes, OP's question was intelligent and in the right place.

Welp my bad, I guess you did take this thread seriously (good for you Mash maybe not everyone on fakku thinks you suck). Not sure what the addendum was about though since no one said the op's question wasn't intelligent or in the right place.

Mea Culpa.
With that out of the way: any news on what's Jake been coding lately?
...or the "standard answer" (where Jacob is concerned) applies?

I'm not supposed to reveal anything but he's got something in the works and I've seen it; it's pretty cool. It's mostly fluff but users will love it. Also e-mail validation for new accounts is something that's being worked on, it's more of a helpful change for the staff but it will mean users who are banned are less likely to return multiple times.
