difficulty playin h264 files

Ok i have a problem,
I want to play an anime episode which is 1280x720 h264 mkv file (around 230+mb)
i'm using the latest k-lite codec pack
my com spec: P4 1.80 ghz cpu, 256 mb graphics, 512 mb RAM, Lcd resolution is at 1280x1024
but i find that when i attempt to play the video, the video lags behind and sound and i cannt enjoy it properly. can someone tell me what i can do to fix it? (other than spending more money to get better items)

I would recommend you to uninstall the K-Lite Codec Pck and install the CCCP-Codec Pack from here:
