FAKKU+/Premium User Membership?
0
I haven't come across any sort of premium membership yet, so I guess I'll bring it up.
These days, many sites, especially forums, allow users to pay for certain site benefits.
The most common include adless viewing.
I myself admit that I currently have FAKKU under AdBlock. Unfortunately this is because FAKKU has some of the worst ads and ad locations I have ever seen.
Yes, FAKKU needs to bring in revenue to pay for its upkeep, but the ads are ridiculous. They get in the way and are not easy to ignore.
Most of the time you're reading a black-and-white pages, the ads are colourful gifs that are annoyingly distracting and really unpleasant to look at. We're here to see our 2D waifus in compromising positions, not for crappy 3D hentai programs and 3D humans in BDSM (well, at least not me).
And the worst is their locations. They're even on top of the hentai! And the pop-ups are on a whole other level.
This is were a premium membership comes in. Allowing FAKKU users to subscribe to some sort of premium membership that gives them special privileges. For example, things such as voting on merchandise, early access to FAKKU Books, discounts on the FAKKU Store, but, most importantly, ad-free viewing.
A premium membership allows FAKKU to capitalize on AdBlock users, because who doesn't like supporting the things they love. I've had FAKKU under AdBlock in all of the two years I've been here, and, unfortunately, I plan to keep it on.
I still support the site, such as through the store, and plan to keep doing so; however, the ads I will never turn back on.
If, for some reason, the idea of premium members isn't appealing, at least work on the ads, I don't think anyone likes them one bit.
I'm sure others agree a premium service is enticing and beneficial to the site. I mean, you'll be AdBlocked anyway, might as well try to get that revenue back through a premium service.
Thanks for reading and I hope I can continue to support FAKKU through other means except viewing its dreadful ads.

It'll be called Fakku Gold and it's already in the works. The membership will be a low monthly fee and there has been talk about letting people get a free trial with purchasing fakku books (in relation to the free trial upon purchase thing not sure if it will be legit or not so don't take my word on it). The membership will also block ads so be patient until it's fully worked out and more official information is released (^^)

Well, I'm glad they're working on something, albeit very overdue. Someone feel free to lock~

I definitely feel you about the ads. Some of them turn me off really badly. I'm not really sure what's going on with it currently but the membership plan hasn't yet been finalized. In fact you ought to toss out other ideas for things you'd like to see and they'll probably be considered.
What we know so far is:
There's also some unknown special that's being worked out. If I had to guess, it would be something about merchandise but I really have no idea.
What we know so far is:
- Advertisements will have a toggle option.
- There will be a store discount for members.
- There will be some special features for the forums and for browsing manga.
There's also some unknown special that's being worked out. If I had to guess, it would be something about merchandise but I really have no idea.

Gold is indeed in the works and the plan is to make it available sooner rather than later. Keep in mind though that nothing is set in stone at this point, and things may change when the final version is announced.

Rumors has it that some images can only be viewed with a Fakku! Gold account.
Shame that I don't have any money to afford one. :(

But why would Fakku be your only source of hentai-related things to go as far as paying for a premium membership?

You get to know the people in power and feel like a real part of the community. I'd like to support this place, and hopefully I'll have the money to do so soon. Because this place rocks.
Not to be riding nobody's dick or nothin'. Just sayin'.

I still think they should work on the ads for non-premium members, they're really distracting and intrusive.
I heard something about FAKKU no longer needing to follow sponsor rules because of Books bringing in more revenue; however, the ads are still as distracting as ever. If not less, then at least not as distracting :S

I definitely agree that there's a lot of room for improvement. But I will say the old pop-up ad was pretty useless and annoying. Even though I don't really care for the new ones I do actually look at them. However a lot of people are experiencing problems and they had a pretty bumpy launch. I think it might have been a better idea to have some users give it a test drive with an opt-in program first.

This is the test drive. It's not an opt-in our opt-out program. They deployed it for everyone. My point was that if FAKKU made it opt-in they would have been able to deal with all the bugs prior to launch.

No official source, people were asking why FAKKU was suddenly allowing loli hentai. Others answered saying ad sponsors weren't letting them as to not affect their own image (yet they got nothing wrong with 3D demon rape...) or something like that. Of course, now that FAKKU doesn't need to rely on ad sponsors heavily, they can upload anything they want.
Makes sense, however, I don't have an official source, sorry.
