Flagging topics/posts

Dont know if its there or not yet but i havnt seen it.
Looks like Fakku is starting to get spammed alot. maybe a button where a user could flag a post as spam/offensive would be a good idea to help mods to keep on top of things.

This is a perfect solution!
Minsc adds to the suggestion:
That only users with a lot of posts and reputation points, should be allowed to flag.
This way, you won't see someone flagging every post as spam.
Great suggestion!

Yeah, this kinda thing has been mentioned before. Right now theres more spam then usual because of the recent temporary thing about not having to activate accounts. The main thing to do when you see those things is just pm a link to one of the admins.

Its just a proposed way for people to mark and/or delete spam topics. If such a feature were added, it would probably have to be limited as to who could use it so that it wouldn't be abused.

I posted this too a while back. Some sort of "reporting system".

I think Fakku should introduce banning system so that less people will spam on the board.
Example: First time is warning
Second time is Ban. Something like that

The problem isn't really normal users spamming though, the problem is bots doing it. Unfortunately that means that IP banning doesn't do much. All you can do about that is delete the spam. Maybe those things where you have to type in a series of distorted characters to sign up would help?

Yep, and Minsc observed that each bot typically posts only 1 time per account. So, an initial warning is quite useless.

Well this could lead to alot of complaining.
EX: Someone could post a wrong link and someone would ban.
So not having a warning would be bad and this warning should last for 10 days. So after 10 days the warning would go away.

understandable but with the recent spam I felt a need of bringing the subject back up. Not trying to step on the toes of anyone :D

It's actually a good idea bluefish, but I just added some stuff to the user registration page that should prevent bots from getting through. We will see what happens though.
