How about a author ranking

I have been thinking about a rank for most favorite mangaka, which ranks mangaka according to the number of favorites for their manga. It can split into two categories: one for the over all number of favorites of all his/her manga ( or quantity rank), and another for the number of favorites of all manga divided by the number of manga( let call this quality rank). Many of us want to know which mangaka is good for our future reading i suppose

No, this seems like a waste of time people generally don't care about the author as long as it has the tags they want they'll read it. Also most people already have an idea of whom they prefer reading. This idea while get it is not necessary.

I agree with Longevity. Besides, the most popular artists are probably vanilla ones who have had their works already taken down but are still favorited (Homunculus, Yamatogawa I think? NaPaTa, etc.)

I may be in the minority here but I'm in favor of it. It would be nice to have a couple extra ways to customize our searches. Tags are great and all but searching tags and authors by ranking could be a really pleasant addition.
