HowTo: Remove the FAKKU Books at the front page

And the best thing. FAKKU can't do anything about that because it's all client side :). Off course they can alter the side but you can alter the script too ;).

Since there is so many discusion about this I think this is an issue.
I provided a way for everyone who doesn't want the paid books on the frontpage to hide them. A realy quick one in fact.

It's a personal choice to use that way or don't.
Looking at the forum it seems many users wanted a way to hide it and if the solution is just (literaly) 10 seconds away I do not see a reason why I should not provide it. I bet some will be happy with that and and some won't. But until FAKKU make this choice configurable I think this is the best solution.

@legendofzeroone I disagree with you. I adress the problem of not able to hide the paid content on the front page and providet a solution.

Is it because you personaly disagree with the method? In this case you could have simply ignored it.

Is it because you are jealous that you didn't have the idea for this simple solution?

The 3 clicks down solution is not a real one because the older FAKKU releases are down there too and between the free stuff.

You are making the same mistake like the music industry.
Just because someone removes unwanted content, it does not mean that if he doesn't remove it, he would buy it. On the other hand I have no remorse for staff that sells pirated books, but that was discused in an other thread and should not be the topic here.
Even if I got down the page in two swipes, the fix works even without an account. I just created the account to post the fix here in the forum. An IP ban is usless because I have an dynamic IP and with 8723748792837498723 proxies out there even with an static IP this is no problem to overcome.

So please enlighten me.

To be clear I know FAKKU since forever and I am here nearly every day. I read the forums frequently and just found no reason to create an account until know.
I am not questioning the rep system itself just the people that uses it.

It is clear that this is a controversal theme. I just got to the conclusion from the posts in the forum that some people want the possibility to hide that content. For that people i created this small fix that hardly took 10 seconds of my time. I do not use it myself I just felt that so some people that is exactly what they wanted.

So using them is a personal choice, but to condemn the one that make that choice possible is the wrong way.

I juse Greasmonkey a lot to make websites more "useable" and add features that are not implemented jet so I'm very familiar with it. Personaly I also uses an skript that adds an tag filter to the main page where I can dynamicly hide books based on filters. Comined with the search bar this is a very powerful tool.

That post says the opposite so someone her does not tell the truth...

I just want to point out that based on Choco-tan's suggestion in a thead I edited my first post and added a alterative Skript that does not hide the buyable content but make it more visible.
