Think of it as a rebranding.
It's easy to take for granted the fact that someone took the time to draw the hentai you enjoy since we've always gotten it for free. But it was never legal. Jacob has always wanted to go legit to support the artists who provide it, and now we are. Piracy was a side effect of that goal (it's probably what got us noticed to strike this deal in the first place) and it's one that many people, like yourself, still associate Fakku with. Not to mention taking this route was necessary to keep the site alive after receiving a takedown notice.
In return for losing all unlicensed content, we now get content from a magazine published in Japan and much of it is uncensored. Of course, the artists and publisher needs to make money from it, so the subscription service was introduced. So we now get the content legally, effectively tapping in to an exclusive market.
There may be freebies in the future but for now it's subscription only, the only exception being Books which you can buy and have unlimited access to (you can also buy a physical copy).

It's quite amusing that so many people think porn falls out of the sky. Most of the people against the idea of spending money on this stuff don't actually have any good reasons to back up their position.

Did I say that? What makes you think artists don't care to be paid? What makes you think it's okay to pirate because you can't afford things? Do you even think about where the money goes when you buy things? Do you even think about where advertising money goes for a site like [insert almost any other hentai website]? I'll give you a hint: not to the people who created the art nor the people who made it available in English for your convenience.
I don't know if you've realized this but you're complaining that something costs money when it's perfectly within the artist's right to complain that a huge amount of fans don't give anything back.
Let's pause here and stress the fact that this is NOT all about money. FAKKU works hard to create quality hentai products in English. Everything is made as close to the source material as possible, the translations are well done, and it's all uncensored which is something we never even had before.
Now of course if you don't care about any of that, then I think you've taken a wrong turn because this is probably not the place for you.

Pls stop saying uncensored as if its the new i phone like whoo hoo its uncensored its not like they made manga altogether, everyone wouldn't even care if they just released everything with censors. Like its not a big thing it really isn't censors are minimal MOST of the time and the ones that have heavy censors are still ok.

The only reason other sites are free is because they're based on piracy. We now have a multiple teams working full-time on localizing the content you see on FAKKU, and everyone involved in the process is compensated for their work, from Japanese artists to western editors.
This is no different from any other industry, be it video games, tv shows, or h-manga. If you don't care about any of this and just don't want to pay, you'll have to wait a bit until we start offering free content. If you want to support what we're doing and the industry as a whole, you can do so by supporting FAKKU.
