Jumping to the first unread post.

Dunno if someone's suggested this yet, but from the short time I've spent here, the one feature I can honestly say I would like to see (aside from the marking of threads already posted in, which someone else mentioned) is a feature that allows users to quickly move to the closest unread post in a thread.
Just in case it isn't clear enough, here's an example:
-You open a thread with 8 replies
-You leave the thread
-Later: you notice there's 5 new replies
-Open the thread; it automatically jumps down to the first reply made since you last opened it.
It's a feature I've seen on forums like the ones at adultswim, and I have to admit that it's rather nifty and useful. You won't have to actually look through the thread to find where the new replies start; it automatically takes you there.
Buuuuuuut, I don't know how complicated it may be to implement it; sites like adultswim have the people and the money to afford streamlined online forums. So I'm just throwing this bone out there to see if anyone'll pick it up.

An older forum I used to frequent had this feature...
You just clicked the thread link and it jumped to the first new reply...
I support this feature...

In fact, Fakku itself used to have this feature until a while ago. Would certainly be nice to have it back.

Yea, most forums I've been to have this feature, and while it may not be essential, it certainly would be a welcome add-on.

Because FAKKU used to run on phpbb, which offered this feature natively. Ever since FAKKU uses its own code, reimplementing this feature has been pushed ever later, since Jacob was focusing on features of the *core* site (e.g. tagging).
It'd be nice if FAKKU could have more coders, but since Jacob has been burned in the past by others taking advantage of their access for malicious purposes, it's not gonna happen soon. Maybe if Jake finally got around to setting up a proper access control to the code with a tiered approach. Until then you better hope someone becomes Jacob's hole brother, for IMHO it'd take that level of intimacy to once again gain access to the website's code and speed up development.

Yea, that's kinda why I figured things like this would be curbed for later. Like I said, the majority of the sites that I've been to are big commercial sites that have the money to afford professionally run online forums. FAKKU is, at the present, nowhere near that level in terms of their financial situation, so they don't have the time or resources to implement all these features that most people enjoy on other sites.
But it's not something that's terribly urgent. It's simply a convenience, and I don't mind not having it. The community here's great, and leaving it simply because I can't have all the features I want would be stupid, lol.
