New avatar sizes

I think the size options were a good idea, because now a lot of people can have more of the full picture in their avatar (because I like putting more than the face in my avatar).

And good call on reducing the filesize limit, it would've never worked with people running around with gif-ava's several mb's in size.

I'm liking this new dimension. It allows us to show the head as well as the body, and bodies are really important, if you know what I mean. :lol:

I like the new dimensions. This enables us to show the head and body. Sometimes having just the face is fine but there are some avis that I like to include the body which I think it's important. And reducing the filesize to 80kb should be fine.

Hmm, at first its kinda odd looking at larger avatars but then I'm starting to get used to it and I really liked it. Somehow it kinda makes the forum a little bit colourful for me. I hope we can keep it...

Mine is about 310kb in size. Should I trash it?

If you ask me 300kb is nothing to make a fuzz over tbh, it's the ones that's 1MB and larger that would pose a problem.

I agree. Anything below 1MB shouldn't be a big problem, right?

I am not sure if anyone has noticed the following error due to the bigger avatars allowed, but hopefully, Jacob will chance upon this very post.

I have provided screenshots to better explain the situation. (The selection of the following users' profiles are purely random.)



When a particular user has a smaller avatar, the options circled in the above image can be seen and accessed, under his/her profile.



However, when a bigger avatar is used, the same options can no longer be seen or accessed, although it varies from one user to another, depending on the pixels of the file uploaded.

@ Gambler: I noticed that as well when checking a couple people's profiles. Also, I've noticed that the user's name directly above the avatar in posts isn't centered for the new avatar width.

I'm pleased with the avatar changes, I was struggling with some images I wanted to turn into avatars.

Rather happy I am. It allowed for some more win avatars to be shown.

please keep the dimension and btw, can you increase the size limit? like 100 kb.

No objection with the file size nor dimensions, just change what you see fit.

Now only that i noticed the size limit is down to 80kb, was going to change my avatar so it doesn't clog up the server.

I'll ask this here, anyone had problem with the "Upload Avatar from a URL" function? I got this error there when using photobucket's direct image link.
Do tell if i did something stupid.
