New Forum Suggestions

I think the current forums we have are very vague and not detailed enough. I know it doesn't matter as of this moment, but it will be very cluttered when the community eventually grows :P
Anyways, think of forums you think we need. I don't think the board is capable of making subforums, so yeah. My ideas:
Under parent forum FAKKU:
Help and Support
Right now, we're using "Feedback and Suggestions" to post problems, but I think it should have its own forum.
Events
In here, we should put threads such as "Female Character Polls + Battle" as well as my "Rewrite Contest" (you'll know ... all in good time ..kekeke)
Guides
Self-explanatory. In case there are special ways of downloading, editing things or some other complicated issue in the future, guides will probably be needed.
Under parent forum General:
*Move "Movies & TV" to parent forum Special Interest instead of General
Advice
If you need help on something and want other people's opinions.
Under parent forum Special Interest:
Art
In here, our artists can show off their drawing skills (hentai or not). This also includes digital art and people can request images for their signatures and such.
Fiction & Stories
We all know that one day, when this community gets big, there will be people who are just itching to type up their stories. This is basically some sort of creativity outlet.
Computers and Technology
Specs, computer problems, etc.
Those are just some off the top of my head. I merely want this forum to be something more than hentai. I think it will catch more people this way. Feel free to suggest your own.

Nikon
FAKKU Old Guard
Help and Support would be a good addition, especially for site-specific problems.
Guides, we should already have I think. Dunno why we haven't made one yet.
Adivce I suggest we steal a name from a site (it doesn't exist) and use "Serious Discussion". This implies that any behaviour other than serious will be handled negatively.
Everything else seems okay, once people stop lurking

Ah, serious discussion would be nice, indeed.

I'm so ashamed for lurking ..... but i have some suggestions for the forums. For the hentai section members can post other good hentai sites (if allowed). Maybe people are tired of hentai........... yeeeaaaahhhh right!!! that why people are here but how about a non hentai section post your favorite girls there for all to see. I also see that people have there own custom signatures and graphics so you can have a section devoted to that where members can (showoff their signatures, teach others how to make them, battles ext...). Sometimes people need to get things off their chest what they don't like about the site, other members that bother them, those freakin' lurkers! :D so how about a bitch board (sorry for language but thats what it's called). Maybe you feel the opposite and you like what people are doing on this site and want to thank them so why not a Love Board . Those are a few I had in mind

Personally, i think the forum is starting to look cluttered and the page is too long even though only a few have been added. I like the idea of new sections(yay, an art section!), but there are to many forums. If the first thing someone sees when they come to Fakku is a long page full of forums, they are going to be intimidated by it and be less inclined to post. If they see so many forums with few people posting it would just have the same effect.
Since you're not sure about subforums, i'd say the best way to keep it from getting cluttered is to combine a couple of the forums. The "Art" and "Fiction & Stories" sections could maybe be put into one for example. A single one for sports, TV, movies, and music could be made and called "Entertainment" as well. This way, the forum as a whole doesn't look cluttered and still covers a range of topics for people to talk about.

You both fail D:
I know it's messy and I remember bothering Jacob something similar a long time ago. Anyways bottom line is: the forums are not capable of having subforums~ or at least I don't think so.

Babbling, or Incoherent babbling need to be done away with. There is no reason to have both, because they are essentially the same. More forums does not always equal more activity. Just need to find away for the lurkers to keep their hands out of their pants for five seconds to type something up once in awhile.

Everyone has good idea about this topic so I went ahead and switched some things around. Please continue to express your opinions though and give us some ideas :D

I didn't say to put them into subforums, what i said was that some should be mixed into one forum to lower the number of forums needed. Makes it look cleaner, but still keeps the topics people may want to talk about. Even if the forum could do subforums(and i highly doubt it can't... though, i don't no what program is being used), to many of them has the same effect as to many forums on the main page ^^;
Like with what Lance mentioned, both Babbling and Incoherent babbling aren't really needed. They could just be combined. There is already a forum for Serious Discussion, only one spam/less serious forum should is needed XP

no, for a forum that's not using any subforums, it now looks better... with the major topics now covered, i can't think of any forums that would need to be added. All that is left to do is to get people to stop lurking -_- they have no excuses now XP

I was just now thinking about a system to get people to stop lurking. Like how Animepaper.net does it, you need to participate in the forum to view/download content.

Like how Animepaper.net does it, you need to participate in the forum to view/download content. No, that's one of the worst possible systems. It just encourages garbage posts by newbies to up their post counts, is hostile to newbies in the first place, gives mods so much more work (filtering garbage and banning spammers), and locks away content that is obtainable elsewhere. Furthermore, it fosters the kind of hostility from users that is exceeded only by hostility towards pay membership sites ("Why restrict access to content that is essentially stolen in the first place?!").
Let's face it, FAKKU frankly has very little content that isn't obtainable elsewhere by those who are even reasonably savvy. Its main draw is a friendly community and easy access to direct downloads (and off/on image hosting).
The best way to ensure participation is to force registration for direct archive downloading (JUST registration, not a specific post count), then guarantee PRIVILEGES to highly active members, like rep boosts for uploaders of new content or folks who help translate, exclusive content or video/game download rights (if any) for persons with a certain post count, and effective moderation on the forums.
To look at it from an outsider's perspective, FAKKU forums are full of noobs and naruto requests, I'm sad to say. No one wants to have to wade through that, so eventually a guideline for posting must be implemented. We have a lot of lurkers right now just looking for posts worth responding to, and I hate to say it, but there aren't a whole lot of those right now.
Effective access increases traffic, which eventually will pay back in terms of community involvement. Just look at the Bloodfer forums. That's from a site with GT membership and forced gallery downloads. It just takes time.
