Are you guys getting popups in any particular areas of the site, like forums?

Also, I have adblock+ (with 'non-intrusive' adds blocked in preferences) and noscript. I also use Ghostery. Additionally, I mostly use Linux.

I will let you know if I see a popup. From what I'm reading, it reminds me of megaupload which bypassed adblockers and installed malware.

While I realize Jacob is at a con now, I'd love to hear comments by the staff on this. WTF is going on?

It's either

a) You deal with it
b) You find some roundabout way to avoid it
c) You pay for fakku's servers to remove the ads.

Seriously just close the pop-up. Takes one second. Doesn't even happen often.

Edit: or try switching to firefox, then install its version of adblock. heard it updates regularly unlike chrome's. haven't tried it though.

I don't get popups on the forums, it's only while i'm reading online. The MoFo's one is popping up in front of the window now, and i'm getting really irritated about it.

Tested it out on Linux. It seems to be activated by the fakku.net script in the gallery/manga reader. The popup was listed as "JuggCash, blocked by Ghostery, luckily. I use adblock+ with "filter non-intrusive ads"

And according to web of trust, the website is engaged in malicious activities:

Good point. Clicking a Fakku-local link to a page or a manga title really shouldn't be causing this...

Same. I been having this problem myself. Manual blocking them helps but not a whole lot.

Also they seem to pop up when you're jumping from Page 1 -> Page 2 to me. Meaning it's possibly Javascript hijack script?

I noticed it happens from Page 1 -> Page 2 as well. Luckily when this happens I was using Linux (I refuse to browse fakku on windows anymore)

It's not just page 1 to page two. It's whenever you click a page in the online viewer. Try using the arrow keys to advance through a few pages and then click, you'll get the popup ad.

I will say this though, adblock may be letting the popup through but it stops the content in the window from loading.

I believe some of the other staff members may have already informed Jacob or the the top management. Nonetheless, I have sent them a reminder.

Unfortunately, I am not IT-savvy enough to deal with the situation.

May I kindly enquire if this malicious popup situation applies to all manga and doujinshi, while accessing the read online function, or does it occur only in selected titles?
