Rating System?

Is there really no rating system to find the best content on the site? It's basically a standard feature for hentai sites. If we're going to be paying for hentai that we could get for free elsewhere, then at least have the superior service on top of your content. Hurts bad enough that most of the good shit costs extra anyways.

Okay, so basically nobody's saying anything. THey just read my post, click the down arrow, and move along.
Let's cut the shit.
Do you support a rating based system that allows the easier perusal of high quality content or not?

Ratings would be nice. I'd also like to be able to make collections/lists with ranked/sorted order of the content, for example top 10 chapters by Bosshi or best 10 chapters of may etc. As it is now everything just goes into your collection in the order you put it there and you can't really edit it.

I can understand where you're coming from, what kind of rating system are you looking for?
Are you looking for the top sellers of our catalog to check out the most popular books?
Are you looking for reviews from customers specifically?
Are you looking for the most popular chapters in a subscription?

Basically, things on other sites boil down to an "out of 5" system. If you search a tag, you could then say "show me results within the range of 4-5 stars" on their rating scale. You are immediately shown your tag (or combination of tags) and what people liked the most within that tag. It's pretty simple. Books are books though, I'm pretty sure their bought on the name of their artist, rather than their quality. But with people who are just starting out, or exclusively draw for magazines like the ones Fakku publishes, how do we know who's on a roll? Who's shining brightest? Who deserves a first look? We have no way to know these things.
I have a few other issues with the site, but a rating system would be the easiest way to allow users to find what artists are doing well amongst the community, and perhaps which chapters specifically got everybody the best fap. It's sad that I can go to a pirate site, and search YOUR OWN CONTENT in a widely better and more accurate to find what I want manner than on the official site. I want to put forth the idea that "Yes. We're legit. Yes, we're publishing books. Now, it's time to help you sort through our now giant catalogue".

I'd also like to note that starting this topic has dropped my meager reputation by a whole ten points already. Classy act, readers.

As mentioned above, there are many kinda of rating systems, and any kind of constructive feedback is appreciated. However if you're asking for the ability give a rating to individual chapters, I don't think that would work out on Fakku.
Most other sites are based around piracy, which means the content comes from a myriad of sources. Anything from translation accuracy to image quality will vary from one gallery to another. This is not the case for us, and when you remove all these factors, the only thing left to rate is the content of the content, such as the themes, artwork, and stories. This for most parts comes down to taste, and will likely result in anything remotely questionable (such as NTR) getting down voted by a large group of users who are not interested in that particular fetish. The voting system on the forums sorta illustrates this issue, where it's more often the opinion/attitude and not the quality/usefulness of the post that's being rated.
Ultimately this leads to a system that doesn't reward the highest quality content, but the least objectionable content.

Well, Fakku is basically just vanilla anyways at this point, it seems. If you want to actually reach into a fetish, you have to pay extra. It seems stupid that there can be literal HUNDREDS of chapters in a single tag and I have no way to know what to start with. Last year I made a topic talking about changes I'd like to see in Fakku, and a rating system was one aspect back then as well, and many people also went against it. Coming back to the subscription a year later and finding that almost nothing about the experience has changed bugged me and I started another topic without thinking. Most people didn't like my post too, so it appears to have been a waste of time and a drop in rep lol

My other issues though still stand, which if you don't feel like doing research were:
Expanded Search Options (haven't tested these out since I rejoined)
Ways to read through an issue from front to back once all chapters are released, and have the issues sorted out for easy reading.
Premium content discounts for subs.

We have those. Well except the content is on the figs and sometime other stuff.

So why not have it be by favorites? You can sort content via favorites to see what's popular or what people like to see no negative votes or such. As for the NTR thing i've seen on a different thread that NTR ranks in the top 5 if not second to vanilla so that really isn't an issue, i mean its not like FAKKU is against darker content right?

Is there really no rating system to find the best content on the site?Like others have mentioned, a five star rating system (or any review system) would not work on FAKKU. People would rate content they find objectionable lower for no other reason than not liking the genre. It would skew the ratings toward whatever is the most popular genre (vanilla), and anything controversial like netorare would sink to the bottom (despite netorare being awesome).
It's ironic that you are complaining about users in this thread downvoting your posts, which is a way for users to "rate" your posts. If your posts in this thread were comics on FAKKU sorted by rating, they would be unpopular and no one would see them. Despite your posts being relatively well thought out and touching on an interesting topic.
So no, we will not be adding a rating system to FAKKU (or anything similar).
Instead, we allow you to sort by popularity. Popularity is calculated based on a lot of things behind the scenes and is a relatively accurate way to find out what is currently popular on FAKKU.
There are a few popular categories on the browse page, and you can view all popular content from the past week here: https://www.fakku.net/hentai/popular. I want to expand on this by adding popular sorting to all tags, magazines, artists, etc. So you can see the most popular chapters with a specific tag, the most popular artists in a magazine, etc.
Then we can suggest you chapters based on tags and artists you follow, so that you don't end up missing a gem you might not have noticed otherwise.

I think a bigger point to be made here is that FAKKU doesn't want users to arbitrarily discriminate between chapters. The system you're suggesting will provide increased visibility to chapters that people just happened to like and decreased visibility to chapters that didn't happen to make the cut. In the long run this just leads to a scenario in which the highest rated chapters remain the highest rated chapters because they gain a stranglehold on visibility. The chapter doesn't even need to be the best. It just needs a bunch of people to agree that it's 5 out of 5 or whatever. It creates a positive feedback loop.
This is not a hypothetical situation. I remember when FAKKU still had unlicensed content I would check the toplists quite often. It was stagnant, for years at a time. I had to check many pages deep just to find something I hadn't seen before. It's a terribly flawed system.
Side note, I talked a bit about why I don't like numeric rating systems here.
Putting all that aside. I hear you. You want to find great manga fast. I know this isn't what you're looking for but why not just ask for some recommendations? I very frequently dig up older chapters and post them to the Discord server with the intention to provide visibility to older content. A lot of us know what's good, and we can put that knowledge to use. I have my own tastes, and I'm constantly updating this collection with chapters I think most people would enjoy. If that isn't for you, I encourage you to make a thread (perhaps in the Subscription Subforum) and list things you like. I'm sure at least a couple of us would be happy to dig some good stuff up.

As for the NTR thing i've seen on a different thread that NTR ranks in the top 5 if not second to vanillaNTR is one of the most popular tags, but it's also a tag that many dislike, and that's what skews the results. A very mild vanilla chapter might get 400 5-star ratings, whereas an NTR chapter by the same artist could get 500 5-star and 200 1-star. The vanilla chapter is now a 5 and the NTR a 4. The point is this system doesn't elevate high quality content (which was the intended purpose), but instead punishes anything divisive.

Expanded Search Options (haven't tested these out since I rejoined)It already exists. You can search for multiple tags at once, either including or excluding. Like... "Oppai "dark skin" swimsuit" or "Fangs Eyebrows -Paizuri -femdom". Quotation marks for tags with a space in it, minus to exclude tags and you can't search for controversial tags. I'm not sure if there's a limit to how many tags you can search for at once.

Now here's my wacky suggestion for systems that could provide a similar experience, alright.
1. You can only like and not dislike. And to make it more fair, you have the option to view the most liked (or favorited) after clicking on a specific tag or making a multi tag search.
2. A system closer to steam, where users can share their own collections of their personal favorites with others and you can follow their collections. (I know this already exists but I'd suggest to make it more visible.)
3. User decided filter (but more advanced than notifications). Each user can decided what they want to see on the front page or alternatively, each user has their own specialized custom feed. This would go well together with 2.
While I dont like systems like this, I can't deny that it's something the vast majority of users look for. They want to know what's the most popular and "best", to get a taste of what the site can offer. And I also believe it's a good tool for introducing new subscribers to hentai manga. Someone that doesn't know anything might want to have a beginners guide to popular artists or something like that. An idea like that could perhaps be integrated into the forum instead, just a thought.
