Something to let you know whether you've posted in a thread.

I sometimes find myself posting in a thread and then a couple months later going back and posting the same reply. There are soo many threads to read and post in, it's hard to keep track of what you've already said. >~>

That would definitely be nice. I've managed to do that a few times myself. I just like to think of it as I more than likely had something new to say, and not worry about. That said, it would still be nice to have some sort of easy identification process.

What exactly would indicate it? Maybe something on the main page displaying the threads; use some kind of symbol to indicate you've posted and put it next to the thread name?

I'd say just looking at your recent posts are good enough...

i think this would be more for necro bumped threads or ones with many, many pages.

i've posted nearly identical comments in bumped threads before myself.

I was thinking of an idea on how to without too many of those "pieces of paper".

We have unread posts remain indicated by red, like they always have, and add another color, like blue let's say, to indicate if we've ever posted. So, it would go something like this.

White: No new posts; user has not posted.
Red: New posts; user has not posted.
Blue: No new posts; user has posted before.
Purple (red+blue): New posts; user has posted before.

The other color can easily be replaced by a symbol or anything else, like Mixtape said.

Yea, I've been on quite a few other sites, and that's what most do, they simply add something to the icon next to a thread to indicate whether or not the user has posted in it.

I'd like to see this too, what artcellrox said seems easiest to implement. Sometimes I go through every page of a thread looking for my avatar and end up wasting a bunch of time.

I like this idea.
