[Locked] "Specific Anime/Manga" merging with Anime & Manga Section

Too lazy to report. Anyway, why the merging?

That is, if you have the POWER to change. Sadly, you--and me as well--don't have it.

Change it back. This is the most pointless update I have ever seen. It was perfect the way it was.

It's a big fucking cluster fuck now. I mean 5 sections merged into one.

It would've been nice is the "Specific Anime Series" and "Specific Manga Series" forums were changed into subsections of the Anime and Manga forum...now its just one big lump of random info.

Also, its been a while since I looked at the forums, but was [Requests] forums always in the "Hentai" section?? I am all confused now....as opposed to my typical level of confusion.

Now it just got moved. Request to Hentai and Anime and Manga down to Special Interest .

The only useless subsections were probably the specific manga chapters and anime episodes as I said in my previous feedback https://www.fakku.net/viewtopic.php?t=89463. There's literally no point into merging specific manga and specific anime into one section. WHERE SHOULD ONE GO WHEN THEY WANT THE MANGA SERIES OVER THE ANIME ADAPTION?!!! or vice versa.

As stated in the other thread, here would be my reply.

you should get paid for the amount of effort you put in around here. or at least some free loot from the fakku store.

So the section isn't too active.

Seeing that each day has one new episode, and each day there will be 1 new translated chapter. I really doubt that it wasn't active.

I mean the section as a whole, so that includes the general discussion topics. They're all dying and getting left behind.

Not really. Now combined it has over 6000 topics and over 120.000 posts. If we're really talking about "activity" then logically the ones that should be "merged" would be: Dreams, Sports and VN discussion sections.

I don't remember the exact number, but that makes 2000 topics and 40.000 posts in each section of the anime and manga before it was merged. That's even more than the serious discussion or the hentai discussion

This isn't really about the section being active or not.

My main point is that I think a lot of the anime general discussion threads are just going to disappear deep into the pages until someone checks to see if a thread already exists either to post in it or if they want to make a topic themselves. The discussion threads aren't as accessible any more without their own little section meaning less discussion and therefore less activity in the section. Yes, the specific anime and manga threads still have hope.

I'm not sure whether or not a lot of people will go into that new section and go through the threads to find something that might interest them because of having to visually filter through the specific anime and specific manga threads. It's painful and boring. It was a lot more enjoyable looking at all the different titles in the 'Anime General' section than what we have to do now. So I do think it is about the section being active.

I'm probably wrong because people will just get used to it overtime and it won't be a problem for any newcomers, I'm just stating my opinion. Although I don't agree with this update I still hold as much respect for Jacob and his decisions as I always have, he's shaping the site into how he wants it and that's awesome. I'm also jumping to conclusions, he might even have other stuff planned. I was just trying to make a point.

A few weeks later, I still see no point in the merging.

All I see is the Anime Section getting more love, while the General Section and the Manga Section are ignored, to the point that they are almost non-existent at all.
