My feedback/suggestions
1. Delete old request, as in the request section you request going back to 2008.
2. To automatically delete unanswered request after 30 days, am sure by then it unlikely to be answered and likely to be forgotten by the OP.
3. To allow people to make temporary account that last for 30 days as there are few people who only make account to make request and then never use the account.
4. Delete old account that are not used, freeing up account names for other people to use, you can set it up so after a year of not login, they get an email asking them to login to keep their account or it will be delete.

I feel like the deletion of old request topics would only be valid if we didn't have a way to tell if a topic was new/unread.
I wouldn't recommend deletion or temporary accounts as the digital books are linked to them. Not to mention impersonation problems this would cause.

how about doing to old request that no-one has replied too.
and about just account that have no favourites, post and have not bought any books
i.e. account like this one

That's possible, but it might be unneeded. They don't clutter anything as they have their own section and I'm sure it wouldn't free up any significant server space.
edit: Up to Jacob about account deletion in the end, I just wouldn't recommend it.
