Suggestion - User's memberships in Profile

The attachment above is a mock user profile page.
Basically, I just added those buttons.
More buttons can be added up there.

Let's admit, there are times when you check user profiles to know more about that certain user, but you can only see those basic infos such as log in/out date and other stats, nothing else.

As an artist myself, most often, I check the Art and Digital Graphics section frequently than most forum sections here. There are artists I find with great talents but I wouldn't be able to know their gallery/portfolios unless you're going to ask/PM them. Having some buttons for their site memberships (toggled in your profile/settings) would help you follow your fellow Fakku users.

Other buttons can be added on suggestion, even adding links for your websites, webcomics, personal forum etc.

Of course, you're not required to fill the forms for memberships/sites that you do not have an account with or if you do not wish to share them.

Any further suggestions, comments are welcome.

You don't have to link yours. But it could indeed be a nice feature for those who want to.

Just don't use them then. Simple as that.

If it's optional, it may be OK. Users who do share must understand that there may be creepers around then.

Social media is for self important people and lonely or whoreish users. Maybe icons for other sites or anime shit.

Yeah, seriously. This isn't a social networking site, it's a social/porn site combo.
That treads a very fine line when searching usernames, and would connect people to their IRL info too easily for my taste.

I wouldn't use it anyways. Only a small handful of people know my online identity, and I plan to keep it small. I do agree with freak though. Anime related shit. Maybe have a spot that links to a deviantart/pixiv or a persons MAL. People here already skype with each other. Just ask them questions there or pm them.

I wouldn't use it, but I don't see why not. If you don't like it, just don't use it and it won't make a difference for you, and those who want to can use it.

Ok, I can begin to see why some users might want links to their respective online presences on their profiles... but from what I'm hearing is that it may not be a majority.

For now, why not DIY a sort of profile type layout in one's signature on the forums? If a feature were to be implemented to allow a show of social sites in one's profile, I'm guessing it would either need to be:
a) super simple to do (probably, but...)
b) a priority among admins

and as to b), I can't see it being a priority unless a huge amount of users either get behind the idea or someone wants to do the code work... and features have been slow to come, imo.

Or you can just do this and put it in your sig.
